I think most people are very eager for a successor to GMod at this point and not another one of their abandoned projects.
I had always expected that if Garry made a follow up to Garry's Mod, it would be called Garry's [I]Game[/I].
I still dream for a new GMod that just allows for huge maps and a remake of SpaceBuild.
Building things out of vanilla HL2 props is one of the most important and charming things in gmod. I really hope that if this does (potentially) become GMod 2, it ships with more than just SProps/PHX style plates and cylinders.

I wouldn't know how to make something like Spacebuild over there.
