Trump, the Republican presidential nominee mired in a scandal over lewd, 11-year-old hot mic comments leaked on Friday, posted video of the press conference held in St. Louis, Mo. to his Facebook page less than 90 minutes before the second presidential debate was due to begin. He was flanked by Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey and Juanita Broaddrick, who have each previously accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault. Some have also accused Hillary Clinton of intimidating them. “Actions speak louder than words,” Broaddrick said. “Mr. Trump may have said some bad words but Bill Clinton raped me and Hillary Clinton threatened me. I don’t think there’s any comparison.”
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/10/09/trump-holds-pre-debate-press-conference-with-bill-clinton-accusers.html Video here: https://www.facebook.com/DonaldTrump/videos/10157857037430725/ Will update once official news sources catch up with articles.
So is this even about politics anymore or is this just a he-said she-said highschool drama? Holy fuck American politics is atrocious.
it's kinda hard not to think of this as the societal decay that happens during the height and before the collapse of an empire.
So is this even about politics anymore or is this just a he-said she-said highschool drama? Holy fuck American politics is atrocious.
You're deluded if you ever thought politics - anywhere - was more than emotional pandering.
Stop the world I want to get off
Fucking pathetic.
So is this even about politics anymore or is this just a he-said she-said highschool drama? Holy fuck American politics is atrocious.
it's the same type of politics that happens everywhere, it just gets more media coverage
This alone would be an easy thing to turn around on him. He isn't taking her seriously at all. Trump's record with women is going to be enough to end his campaign.
Yeah, watching the Swedish party leader debate yesterday, then go to this. Is this even the same planet anymore? Is this actual politics?
Yeah, watching the Swedish party leader debate yesterday, then go to this. Is this even the same planet anymore? To be fair, it's not like this is normal by American standards either. Romney and Mccain were actually respectable men and were capable of coming across as presidential.
The ride never ends
The only question now is how the candidate for 2020 will manage to be even worse
I'm a little surprised sexual assault victims would want to defend a guy who's said a bunch of creepy shit regardless of how he compares to someone else.
Clinton camp's response
if the debate is supposed to be about questions that matter, why is the first question attacking trump for making a comment backstage 11 years ago? shouldn't the debate be on actual political issues? also, shouldn't the debate questions have been already prepared beforehand? This scandal just barely came to light a few days ago
if the debate is supposed to be about questions that matter, why is the first question attacking trump for making a comment backstage 11 years ago? shouldn't the debate be on actual political issues? also, shouldn't the debate questions have been already prepared beforehand? This scandal just barely came to light a few days ago
The fact that Donald Trump at one point condoned sexual assault is in fact, a political issue.
As opposed to someone who... bullied rape victims and covered for a pedophile?
This bullshit again?
also, shouldn't the debate questions have been already prepared beforehand? This scandal just barely came to light a few days ago
It's a town hall debate, so having the candidates approve the questions beforehand kind of defeats the purpose. And in any case it rather makes sense to address the elephant in the room right off the bat
As opposed to someone who... bullied rape victims and covered for a pedophile?
How many times does it need to be said that this never happened and the only people who believe this are the ones who didn't bother to look at the full context of what happened?
it's kinda hard not to think of this as the societal decay that happens during the height and before the collapse of an empire.
I can see it now, the United States dissolves and reforms into the People's Republic of the Americas.
Everything my opponent has said is false!
Trump is basically the Howard Stern of politics now, isn't he?
As opposed to someone who... bullied rape victims and covered for a pedophile?
Oh please tell me how much do you actually know about the case that you are referring too?
To be fair, it's not like this is normal by American standards either. Romney and Mccain were actually respectable men and were capable of coming across as presidential.
Yes they were. I don't agree with all their politics but I'll be damned if either of them are scumbags like Trump is. Romney came out against Trump really early too,I honestly think everything about Trump just completely offends him. Although I will fault McCain for putting Palin in the limelight like he did. Her brand of idiocy was the start of the downhill slide into this cesspool.
Not really, Trump is a huge blemish on the political system. He's not playing by any of the rules and is just stirring up as much nonsense as possible.
And that's why we love him.
it's kinda hard not to think of this as the societal decay that happens during the height and before the collapse of an empire.
so that makes us rome 2.0, awesome.
This is something that I think should be talked about, but it has nothing to do with Hillary or her campaign. I think Bill is a fucking creep but he isn't the one running for president here.
So is this even about politics anymore or is this just a he-said she-said highschool drama? Holy fuck American politics is atrocious.
Doesn't matter what any of the politicians do at this point. Clinton or Trump could raise awareness for breast cancer and publicly fund an orphanage and they'd both still be criticized for being untruthful/manipulative. It's just a childish rush to how much shit one can fling at the opponent's face, preferably while shielding themselves under false pretenses of fighting for higher causes. The actual candidates are doing this, their team is doing it, and their supporters are doing it. It's like a race where the goal isn't to get to the end but to see who can ride the higher horse.
So is this even about politics anymore or is this just a he-said she-said highschool drama? Holy fuck American politics is atrocious.
this kind of emotionally charged drama is actually good, and that people are getting drawn into it, it means the country is still virile. The collapse comes when people are so jaded they literally don't care who wins and neither do the politicians.
