Hacktivist group Anonymous has come out to avenge the attacks on the office of Paris-based magazine Charlie Hebdo in which 12 people were murdered. The Belgian 'branch' of Anonymous posted a video message to YouTube describing a new campaign against jihadists, called #OpCharlieHebdo. The video, which features someone wearing the Guy Fawkes mask and speaking with their voice obscured, explains (in French) that its members have decided to "declare war on you, the terrorists" - referring to Al-Qaeda and ISIS specifically. "We will track you down - every last one - and will kill you,” the spokesman says. "You allowed yourselves to kill innocent people, we will therefore avenge their deaths."
video + source
I wish I could rate winner multiple times
I would like to know how they are going to carry out this operation with a legion of teenagers on computers as their backbone. Like how are they going to kill anyone?
I would like to know how they are going to carry out this operation with a legion of teenagers on computers as their backbone. Like how are they going to kill anyone?
By hacking into missile silos, of course!
which anon group through?
"We will track you down - every last one - and will kill you,”
Hah
Eeeeh, these schoolboys don't understand who they are messing with. I mean leave fighting terrorism to competent ones or you might find your family burned alive one day.
oh thank god, now the world can rest easy
I would like to know how they are going to carry out this operation with a legion of teenagers on computers as their backbone. Like how are they going to kill anyone?
Giving the authorities names and addresses? Otherwise they are just a bunch of angsty french anons.
By hacking into missile silos, of course!
LizardSquad hijacks a drone fleet then terrorizes the Caliphate.
lol what are they going to do against them? I am just imagining a bunch of kids in che guevara shirts shooting random bearded arab men with pellet guns and failing miserably.
All jokes aside, I'd love to see them doxx some of their supporters on social networks.
At last, a war for the fabled armchair warriors to fight in
This is really a biased approach that we're taking as a community. While it does sound a bit far fetched, these guys aren't all script kiddies and animu nerds. Some are legitimate hackers with some underground ties and it'd be interesting if they really did pull off a proper operation. Even feeding data to counter-terrorist units with US and EU intel could do great.
"We will track you down - every last one - and will kill you,”
Liam Neeson?
I can picture a group of airsoft kiddies going overseas with guns they've purchased only to be executed like the previous lot.
Giving the authorities names and addresses?
That's what I thought too, but what good are they going to do when it seems like the criminals that started these horrible crimes were already tagged by officials? Also it is abit ironic that Anon wants to do what the NSA basically does now. Their monitoring is going to have to invade people's private information innocent or not till they figure out if they are a terrorist.

Oh boy vigilantes threatening to kill people. It's a good thing vigilantes always honor due process and give a fair trial.
Giving the authorities names and addresses? Otherwise they are just a bunch of angsty french anons.
The authorities more than likely already know who they are and have been watching them but not acted. It happened with most situations like these, look at the Lee Rigby killers. Also I bet the Jihads are really worried about their facebook accounts
At least anon doesn't do it for taxpayer's money (a shitload of money too).
At the end of the day, if I were just some Islamic youth that happen to get my information invaded to see if I were a terrorist, I rather not have Anon handling it. I generally support Anon since I trust them to actually get some results, but still not exactly sure if we should be all gung-ho on it.
While this might be good it could also be bad, don't see how a bunch of hackers are going to do much without causing collateral damage etc. I mean, quite frankly i'm a bit scared about what the more xenophobic members plan on doing as that might result in them just hacking/harassing/killing everyone in the same area as ISIS/Al-Qaeda. And well, the last thing we need is a bunch of hackers that do more harm than good...
I can picture a group of airsoft kiddies going overseas with with guns they've purchased only to be executed like the previous lot.
time to bingewatch V for Vendetta and reread my classic literature. with my twin sais they'll never see me coming
I would like to know how they are going to carry out this operation with a legion of teenagers on computers as their backbone. Like how are they going to kill anyone?
One of the crusades were organized by a teenager. Anything is possible
One of the crusades were organized by a teenager. Anything is possible
That literally means nothing cause what I'm asking is how a bunch of hobbyists hackers are going to physically kill terrorists and carry out this operation. Alerting the authorities is nice, but the it is obvious the real governments are not going to go, "Thanks Anon for this address," and send a cruise missile to a suspect's house.

If they could take down the comms of terrorist networks that would be a serious blow.
It's a joke moron
Sorry, I been reading some dumb ass posts for like 3 days straight so at this point I wouldn't be surprised if you ment it. Also sarcasm isn't the easiest to pick up when poorly done.
If they could take down the comms of terrorist networks that would be a serious blow.
Can't take down the internet
Terrorizing the Terrorists how has nobody thought of this before!
