Sources tell us it will be a modified version of the Android operating system with deep native Facebook functionality on the homescreen that may live on an HTC handset. The evidence aligns to say this is the Facebook Phone announcement people have been speculating about for years.
50 bucks says it charges 1.00$ per text
so this is how it is. People will have a facebook phone, an instagram camera, a twitter pager, and a cellphone in their pockets from now on instead of just having a phone. Thats the trend. #swag
Why on earth would you need this?
1 Hacker Way? If I didn't look that up I would think this was an April Fools joke.
ew
Wait a second, I thought it was already discovered that it's not a facebook phone they're working on, but like a full page facebook widget thing or something.
I've heard it's just a custom skin centered around facebook. "See our home" as in home screen.
What's the point?
April Fools?
It didn't work before and it won't work this time either. Everyone is a snob who wants an iPhone
But they already have the iphone
HTC is a promo whore, Beats Audio and now this...
HTC is a promo whore, Beats Audio and now this...
Who said anything about HTC? The phones in the post above are years old.
HTC is a promo whore, Beats Audio and now this...
Didn't a picture of Kim Jong-Un show him with an HTC phone while he was working at his desk? :v:

I was using facebook on iOS for iPad today and I just love how it feels, how smooth it is and how beautiful it just looks Then I go to instagram for iOS (running in iPhone emulator cause they haven't bothered to optimize it), again, really smooth, beautiful layout, selecting photos is just a walk in the park and everything is great I go over to my nexus 7, what happens? Facebook for android has definitely improved but nothing like the folks at iOS and their experience, still laggy in some places and not optimized for tablets as of yet Then on instagram its just laggy, taking photos is alright I guess but trying to select a photo is a whole different story, and it uses a vastly different layout than what iPhone has, not really consistent Facebook you've come a long way from making terrible Android apps but please for the love of jesus christ, make apps that look and feel the same as iOS instead of spitting on android users?
Who said anything about HTC? The phones in the post above are years old.
The article?
well hey if this means anything good maybe they'll get around to fixing their horrid android app
Their Android app sucks so much ass. Maybe they should fix that first.

Everyone is a snob who wants an iPhone
i have the one on the right, got it because it was the only android phone with a full QWERTY keyboard at the time - as that, it's great, can even hack android 4 onto it, but the facebook button is fucking useless (and does literally nothing when running custom firmware)
Fuck this social generation. Now we can't even spend a femtosecond away from our precious Facebook.
Fuck this social generation. Now we can't even spend a femtosecond away from our precious Facebook.
I only use mine to cloudsave my game of You Don't Know Jack.
Fuck this social generation. Now we can't even spend a femtosecond away from our precious Facebook.
Facebook is fantastic, I use it so much to message friends, plan events, and get feedback on my projects. I don't see why people seem to hate it so much!
1 Hacker Way? If I didn't look that up I would think this was an April Fools joke.
You realize that hacker used to be this guy, right?
Facephone? Phonebook?
this is kinda retarded considering they can't fix the app itself.
Why on earth would you need this?
I used to fix Verizon phones, a lot of people actually use their phone only to check facebook and send text messages. If Facebook were to make a phone that allows its customers to send text, call, and browse facebook, you now have a good base for your product. [editline]31st March 2013[/editline] There is definitely money to be made by Facebook, and due to their shares being in shit right now because of it, an actual paid for service would hypothetically raise their share prices.
You realize that hacker used to be this guy, right?
you realize that they probably renamed the street when they put their headquarters their and thought that Hacker would be an amusing name a lot of big companies rename the streets that they're on, it's just a thing.
weird that technology had been moving in a direction of being consolidated on one device, but now it's once again being spread across several (re: above post mentioning twitter pager, instagram camera, etc)
