The actor, who played the classic villain Blofeld in SPECTRE, will only return if Daniel Craig reprises his role as the titular 007. According to reports Bond bosses will only get Christoph if Daniel signs up for a fifth outing as the superspy. "Christoph could make a brilliant ongoing man for Bond to battle like in the old days," a source told the Daily Star. "But the important clincher of it is that Blofeld can only work with Daniel back in the role to keep continuity." The news of Christoph's return comes as Daniel appeared to make a big u-turn at the end of last year about his own future as James Bond. After saying he “would rather slash my wrists” than play Bond again, Daniel backtracked saying he was simply unsure if he will return. There were even bigger hints dropped by director Sam Mendes, who teased that the latest film together was "completion". But Daniel delighted producers with his fourth 007 movie, SPECTRE, which made a staggering £41.3million in its opening week in the UK. Producer Michael G Wilson seemed to confirm they expect to have Craig for a fifth time, saying: “We think we’ve got him but we don’t have a contract.” A Bond source said: “Daniel has been a huge success as 007 and is loved by fans so he isn’t going anywhere yet. “The directors know they would be daft to replace him at a stage where he is so popular. It’s almost certain he will do one more outing as Bond. And with the potential for Judi Dench to return in flashback form as M, the storyline for Daniel Craig as Bond appears far from over. Reps for Christoph Waltz have been contacted for comment.
[Source: The Mirror] As much as Spectre was shite, I think Christoph Waltz could've stay - there's a lot to this character.
I liked Spectre. And I really liked Waltz as Blofeld. I would love one more adventure with the two of them.
When Spectre came around i heard fake spoilers that Bond was actually going to die at the end of the movie and that the villain would win for once (till the next movie obviously) I was actually really sad how this turned out not to be the case.. Could have been one incredible twist, for example in the next movie to see how the world would look like if a massive terror organization would take over.
his character was completely wasted in spectre though. sure the torture scene was horrible, but the one in casino royal is way more down to earth and raw, no fancy dentist chair of death, just a rope and an ass-less chair really le'chief from the first movie was a wasted character, he would have made a great returning bad guy, waltz was sort of meh
Spectre was a disappointment. "Okay, we're going to send our henchman to kill you on the train. Oh, you survived? Okay, you can check out our base."
It did follow super villain rules though. You passed the test, come in and then we capture you, tell you the whole plan, then something and the hero escapes. Villain is then stopped there or shortly afterwards as I have no idea. The ending to it confused me the most though.

Bond characters usually lack a decent background story. Kinda like Kylo Ren from the new Star Wars since he just bad because of reasons. Thats why i fucking loved Alec Trevelyan and Raoul Silva. Both worked for MI6 and both felt betrayed by it, i especially like Silva. What i find one of Christophs best performances, a figure like that could fit the Bond style. [hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5s3Oj2cPgc[/hd]
This is a real actor.
I suppose if it wasn't Waltz in the next one, it could easily be someone else. Isn't Blofield supposed to change his appearance in every film anyways?
I don't see why not have them continue if they both want to. Everyone would be pissed with another bond reboot anyway. Same thing happens with every batman.
didnt craig say that he really didnt want to make any more than his contract required?
didnt craig say that he really didnt want to make any more than his contract required?
This is confusing to me since he said he didn't want to do any more after Spectre but I heard he was contracted for five.
This is confusing to me since he said he didn't want to do any more after Spectre but I heard he was contracted for five.
He said he'd rather slit his wrists than think about working on another Bond move right after they finished filming Spectre. I'd be tired of Bond for a bit too.
absolutely not. Whoever wrote/directed Spectre was absolutely horrible. Waltz is such a great actor and he was criminally underused and fucking boring as a character in Spectre. Also Daniel "I'd rather slash my wrists than do another Bond movie." Craig.
I suppose if it wasn't Waltz in the next one, it could easily be someone else. Isn't Blofield supposed to change his appearance in every film anyways?
It's a sort of unintentional tradition caused by the need for a new actor each time, eg in FRWL and Thunderball he had different actors for body and voice. Then they needed a single actor for YOLT so Donald Pleasence was cast, but they wanted someone better suited for the more physical role in OHMSS so it was Telly Savalas, and so on. It's just like Bond himself, they cast whoever they need.
I enjoyed Spectre, even though it had a lot of awful plot twists. Almost felt like they were out of suspenseful ideas.
I feel like they shoehorned Andrew Scott in the last minute. Climatic battles [sp]was supposed to be done in the villain's super lair,[/sp] but nope, we're moving onto the sub-plot.
That whole subplot was so lame. A, it's an attack on the whole global surveillance thing that nobody gives a shit about anymore and B, they utilized the idea poorly. A guy like M should have been all for it, but no, he's against it so they give the supporter role to a cardboard cutout. Instead of a subplot, that should have been the main story, with M supporting surveillance, only for Blofeld to hijack it and proceed to ruin Bond's and everyone else's lives.
