May 21st was a "spiritual coming" says Camping, real end of world: Oct 21. 2011
You’ve been warned.
Radio evangelist Harold Camping said in a special broadcast Monday night on his radio program Open Forum that his predicted May 21, 2011 Rapture was “an invisible judgment day“ that he has come to understand as a spiritual, rather than physical event.
“We had all of our dates correct,” Camping insisted, clarifying that he now understands that Christ’s May 21 arrival was “a spiritual coming” ushering in the last five months before the final judgment and destruction.
In an hour and a half broadcast, Camping walked listeners through his numerological timeline, insisting that his teaching has not changed and that the world will still end on October 21, 2011.
“It wont be spiritual on October 21st,” Camping said, adding, “the world is going to be destroyed all together, but it will be very quick.”
Camping had previously pointed to October 21 as the last day on earth for all humanity.
His former assertion was that a faithful three percent would be physically pulled into heaven by God through the Rapture on May 21, to be followed by a five month period of great suffering known as the Tribulation, ending, finally, on October 21. On Monday’s broadcast, Camping speculated that perhaps a merciful God decided to spare humanity five months of “hell on earth.”
Camping’s belief system is one part mainstream Christian teaching and another part pure Camping. While many Christians accept similar teachings on the end times, (Pew has found that 41 percent of Americans think Jesus will “definitely or probably return to Earth before 2050”) most reject the idea that you can either know God’s timeline or that the Bible is embedded with secret codes.
I guess we don't really have any reason to doubt him. It's not like he has a track record of being wrong. Oh wait.

I'm spending my life savings to buy subway posters.
What could go wrong?
"October 21, 2011 was just a test of your faith! The real end of the world is in 2012!"

I think he had all along did the whole May 21st being Judgement Day and Oct. 21st being the end of the world proper. I saw some of them down in Texas and there were even Spanish ones that had more details, such as this one:

Of course nothing'll happen anyways. It's unfortunate though when they somehow get people to waste money on it. It's good to see them setting their priorities straight instead of doing "good works" like charity :v: .
This is what all doomsday conspirators say. When the date passes they make a statement along the lines of 'Not now LOL, it is at a later time.

I knew it was the Juice!
Oct 21 is spiritual coming part 2 as soon as oct 22 starts. I see the pattern

He'll come up with a reason for it too. "I prayed so hard and he has spared us! Huzzah, the next rapture will be in a year! But seriously this time!" Hopefully he has most of his supporters. I'd like to say I am sorry for those people who spent all their money, but that's their own damn fault for being so ignorant.
time to start planning my next end of the year party
I predict the end of the world will happen billions of years into the future when the sun becomes a red giant.
Give me money.
I knew it was the Juice!
I bet the juice did this
we must be immortal or something
so many "ends of the world" survived already
come at me 2012
And so the cycle begins again. He delays his end of the world dates more then Gabe delays Episode 3.
Hell on earth? That's what it already is. Evil rules the planet.

yeah
reminds me of that one image along the lines of "jesus promised the end of evil people, odin promised the end of ice giants... well I don't see many ice giants around"
GG religion
Fucks sake... LET IT GO YOU OLD COOT CAMPING.

The Rapture is a good thing for christians, isn't it? They get to go to heaven, don't they? Why would he want it to...not happen
No, they said that starting from May 21st, mankind will be tormented, and the world is destroyed in October.
It's bullshit either way, though.
Even the actual christian teachings say that no one can tell the date when the worlds going to end :colbert: I think instead of studying to become a priest or other church authority he just wanted to get easy attention and followers by spouting out bullshit like so many others.
Edit: And in the end he might have even believed it himself.

He's tormenting my mind with his bullshit theories.
Well, I think we all saw this coming.
Somehow though I imagine a sort of "Boy Who Cried Wolf" thing happening because of this when someone who has actually seen when we all die shows up.
Occam's Razor: There is no God, therefore no Rapture.
So wait why is the world going to end exactly? Were we bad people?
This guy's lost more face than the Nazis that opened the Ark of the Covenant.
You mean I got plastered and watched Monty Python's Flying Circus with my friends for nothing, and I get to do it again in October?
Awesome.
I'd like to have a spiritual coming with some sexy angels
I think he's trying to delay it long enough until enough lunatics believe him that their combined antics destroy the Earth :tinfoil:

This is just too damn funny to be true... he sure is a pro troll
God? Merciful? What.
If God wants to kill everyone who doesn't believe in him, then he is not merciful.. He is a control freak.
Aka - God is nonsense.
Yes, Popcorn Co.? Yes, it's me again. No, I don't wanna return the buttload of popcorn I ordered, just wanna say that you'll probably be receiving another major order at october-ish this year.
