Note how they still haven't made even the slightest suggestion of what those changes might entail. They just want people to buy the game and hope it'll be good later, so they don't have to fix jack shit.
itd be really nice if these articles would title it "ea removes microtransactions temporarily" instead of "ea removes microtransactions"
Yeah that honesty pisses me off, this article has probably tricked a few people, I mean for fuck sake, that's extremely valuable information.

All this is, is EA trying to temporarily bury this issue, so that later down the line they can come in with their shitty behaviour, just like before. But here's another part so often overlooked: Acquisition rates are still ridiculous. So players still have to grind like crazy to get any kind of character or unlock, because the rates are still meant to get you to buy real-money currency. So what does this mean? It means players get extremely frustrated with the issue then however many months down the line, EA comes out of the shadows and says "Hey, I can solve that frustrating issue for you!" and re-introduction of real-money currency begins, and because it's not launch window the media attention will have dwindled. All of this is just as scummy as the rest of it has been, this is not EA solving the issue this is just them trying to hide it. Don't give EA and inch, because in a few months they will absolutely take a mile, they're lining up for it already.
they will bring it back later down the line after launch, probably just as bad as it is now if not maybe slightly toned down. just like what bethesda did with paid mods
This comes across to me like EA is now trying to stick it to their whole consumer base. Like "These assholes want us to get rid of in-game payments? Fine! We'll FORCE them to use our impossibly demanding grinding system! Then they'll come crawling back, begging us to let them pay real money for in-game unlocks!"
So players still have to grind like crazy to get any kind of character
The reduced hero prices really helped, you don't need to anything crazy for that many credits, its really easy to get. The time consuming part is getting Star Cards and upgrades.
The reduced hero prices really helped.
They also reduced the amount you get for completing the campaign by 75%.
They also reduced the amount you get for completing the campaign by 75%.
The amount you received for completing the campaign was the same amount Iden Versio costs, they just scaled the price down to match her new price. It's fucking stupid, yeah, they should've given her as the reward for completing the campaign instead of credits. In my opinion, she's the only hero I can justify being locked, to encourage playing the campaign. All the other heroes being locked is ridiculous, honestly.
They also reduced the amount you get for completing the campaign by 75%.
To match the cost of Iden, who's price went down. 75%.
