Have never seen that mod tool before so i cant answer your questions.
I must say that it looks pretty crappy tough.

It's Softimage XSI Mod Tool. Google it, you'll see it's an officially sanctioned Autodesk product designed for modding games.

XSI Mod Tool. It's pretty much the best (IMO) free modelling tool compatible with Source. I'd go with Blender but it has proportion problems with Source.

It looks nothing like Inventor or 3dsmax.
Actually the UI looks crap!
But well maybe looks are decieving.

It's got a bit of a learning curve, and the UI is a bit crap, but you get used to it. It's not made by Autodesk, it's made by Softimage.

Ah. Well, it was originally made by Softimage. I think Autodesk bought them out.

Now the only problem is I have no idea where my navigate tools are :(
I need to Google what the hotkeys are for it.
