Only way this generic covershooter #187 is going to be good is if they get the driving physics spot on like 1 and 2
I'm looking forward to this. Loved the first two games, can't wait to see what the plot is going to be.
Fuck yes. Cruising around in muscle cars is all I wanted from this series after Mafia 2.
I really hope this game isn't too taxing on my hardware. The amount of traffic in this game looks intense, not to mention how lively the environment looks. And these cars, well these cars are incredible looking.

its a mafia game that takes place in new orleans and you think its generic?
it looks pretty stellar so far

I hope that the progression isn't as linear as in Mafia 1 and 2 where the City is was simply nice background.

I take you never played a Mafia game before?

It's not like there aren't a billion first person shooters out there as well. Just because it's a TPS doesn't mean its generic.

Why would they dumb down the game for people with outdated hardware? That's not their problem...

It's called optimizing.

which when it impacts the look and feel of stuff can also be known as dumbing down

Seeing this is a single player game i am sure that if you cannot minimize the traffic that someone will release a tool to do so. Does GTA V has a option like this?

Reducing the traffic is not the same way to optimize the performance. You could lower qualiy models, displaying LOD models earlier and reducing graphical effects like shadow casting, receiving and reflections to increase the performance and keep the traffic density.

i don't know, to sell more copies maybe????

Who said I wanted them to "dumb down" graphics. Actually, what the hell does it mean to "dumb down " graphics in a game. What are they going to make graphics settings like a mobile game? Oh its got HD and non HD mode. Good enough for me!
Also my hardware isn't outdated. Sure, the CPU is from 2012, runs at 3.8GHz across 6 cores. But Thuban was a good design. The r9 390 may not be the best card on the market, but it does well for what I need. 20GB of RAM operating at 800MHz, is fair enough. Should I overclock that? No. Who cares.
Also, I am sure the developers had optimized the engine well. Made it multithreaded, 64bit, DX12 capabilities. They're not going to do what I do and just throw a bunch of polygons at something and it'll look good. Theres many technologies that make graphics work better.

That's a poor excuse. Can't play the game, don't buy it. People with shit PC's hold back developers
