Right now, I am at 100% cpu. This godforbidden program steals all my available cpu (0-60). It's making all my games drop in fps except EP2 (for some reason). I get 10-15 fps in gmod and it's not making making me very happy. Someone help.
"The wmiprvse.exe file is located in the folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem. In other cases, wmiprvse.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm!"
Check that first.
I doubt that a virus can dismount your cpu and run off with it.
Agreed with Voltlight, if your wondering how you do this you right click on the process and hit open file location. If it is not in the specified directory by Voltlight, you have a problem and that file will require removal. As it is that program should not be pinning your CPU it really doesn't do much in it's legitimate form.
Oh, what antivirus are you running if any? Do an update and run a full system scan.
Isn't WmiPrvSe something to do with the pile of shit that is Prefetch?
I have no idea, I just want to play games with 20+ fps.

Seeing as it says so in that picture, it is :downs:
But what do I do? Some time ago I got pissed and tried to end it, which didn't do a damn thing. It just reappeared.

Ugh, this is great. I can't end it now, after I changed that value.
do a scan with malware bytes or a proper anti virus that hasn't got the word 'avg' in it.
I use asquared. I scanned with it recently, and to no avail. Avast was....never mind. That took almost as much cpu as this did before. It isn't a virus, but it isn't normal.

That .exe is going to run. its part of Windows. As long as it's not chewing up all your CPU then you don't have a problem.

Avg is horrible, but what is a normal cpu for this prog? I get 7-27.
Between 0-1.
Well, of course it depends, if you have a Celeron @ 500Mhz It'll take more.
