I don't really see what this confirms. The database/email list leaks were more substantial and had actual team listings; this is literally just a folder name and is purely speculation.
We already know they are/were working on L4D3 so it's nothing new

oh wait, mistook it for VNN

I'm not sure why anyone would trust rumors like this regardless, they're the dumbest things
Like, I always feel a bit crazy because only a handful of people ever remember the fact that when S2 leaked, so did the existence of L4D3.
Two years ago. A folder in a picture is actually less evidence than what we already knew
A new Left 4 Dead? Without Turtle Rock Studios? Nah
A new Left 4 Dead? Without Turtle Rock Studios? Nah
We already had that. It was called Left 4 Dead 2 and was actually pretty good.
Also, Turtle Rock is pretty much dead sadly. EVOLVE only served to ruin what good reputation they had. I doubt anyone is going to trust them again as long as they have 2K as a publisher for their next games.

Its VNN/ValveTime's job to cover rumors and these kind of things, PCGAMER should be able to decide what is and isn't news worthy for more general media.

Dunno why you're considering it a rumor, the screenshot is directly from a Valve employee, who was shown to be on the L4D3 Jira mailing list.

All it basically confirms is that L4D3 is a current/ongoing project, and not abandoned.
damn a second VR is already in development too?

Yeah, its not a rumour if its a screenshot taken by a valve employee and then posted on a valve wiki.

Wasn't even the first one without turtle rock after most of its development ?
I won't be buying a l4d3 unless the campaign levels are completely randomized. Once the games been out for a week and everyone's completed all the campaigns nobody uses teamwork and just knows which ways to rush
Well they gotta be working on something. I refuse to believe Valve has given up on Video Gaming.
Well they gotta be working on something. I refuse to believe Valve has given up on Video Gaming.
Valve doesn't even make their own games anymore, it's all outsourced.
This seems way too obvious to be real, but i'm still excited for L4D3
half life ep3/hl3 also had been "teased" with folders for years so that doesn't mean much
This seems way too obvious to be real, but i'm still excited for L4D3
It's real. The Valve developer Tristan Reidford added the 'Importing' tutorial on the wiki, then posted about it in the news section for Destinations.
The screenshot has since been modified, but others and myself saved copies before it happened.

Outsourced to who?
Dota 2, CSGO and TF2 are all maintained by Valve.
If you're talking about turtle rock then you can fuck off

Probably means the community. Consider the hats, maps, and skins.

A majority of content contributions from all 3 games are made by the community I think that's what he meant
On the topic of it being an "intentional" leak, it probably was.
They already edited dots around specific folders, and clearly knows how to use mediawiki to remove image history. A person like that does not make such a mistake in the first place.
[editline]later[/editline]
Meant for that to automerge.
[editline]later[/editline]
It's also conveniently scrolled down to just show L4D3 (w/ other released projects).
Makes me wonder how hard it is for Valve employees to shut up and uphold their NDA's. If you work at that place and you work on projects such as a new L4D or you know that HL3 is being worked on the background then i sure guess it would be tough one to remain silent, probably all your friends hammering about it as well.
I imagine that breaking their NDA would go as far as going to prison, the guy who leaked HL2 was on borderline of getting into jail

Wasn't he arrested the second he stepped foot in the USA after Gabe promised him a job?
Edit:
After looking into it he was arrested in germany
What would the fourth Left 4 Dead game be called? Left 4 Dead?

Left 4 Dead 3: Episode 1
What would the fourth Left 4 Dead game be called? Left 4 Dead?
Probably just Left 4 Dead 3.
I think they want to try and get something similar to Dota 2/TF2/CSGO in regards to monetization after the game comes out so they can continue to support this one with content, and make money on it.
Which I'm all for, even if I don't go for the stuff.
Probably just Left 4 Dead 3.
Nah I mean the one after this
