How good of a laptop can I get for like 600-800$ ?

I need a new laptop for video editing/rendering. It doesn't have to be sate of the art it just needs to be decently better than my 5 year old PC (which still has a single core and 3 GB of Ram). Where should I look for the best prices and what could I expect for that price point?
