I'm pretty new to Fl studio, and I wanted to export a work in progress piece for a friend, but the rendered version seemed to compress many parts of the song.
Here is a link to it so you understand better

Is it just my extremely badly made piece of shit? or is there some easy way to get it to render the way I hear it in playback?
Export is as a wave file and you'll get it lossless.

I tried, but it still dampens it

Then you must be doing something wrong, because .wav is very lossless indeed.

I switched it to 128 point sync, and mastered some of the synth. Much better now, the base wasn't played during playback this loud.
Make sure you're at 44100 Hz
A lot of people increase this thinking it'll increase the quality...

You may as well use the highest sync, it still barely takes that much time at all.
Render in mp3, 32bit float, 320kb/s 64-point sync.
works wonders
I think your problem has more to do with mastering rather than rendering. I heard a lot of distortion, which I assume is what you were talking about.
One way to check if this is the case is go back into FL studio and watch the decibel meters (those bars at the top that measure how loud it is). If they turn a solid yellow color from time to time, your song is distorting.
If this is the case, go to your master channel and put a Fruity Compressor in the last slot. Put on these settings and you've got a quick fix to prevent your song from distorting:

As for rendering settings, these are some good settings for a decent quality-size ratio:

Hope it helps!

Wow dude, thanks so much. I got to clean the song quite a bit and bring out drowned instruments
For some reason when I put it on 512 sync, it came out almost flawlessly, I didn't think it makes that much of a difference...
