YouTube - A gun-toting father gives his daughter a lesson in respect after finding a disrespectful Facebook post that she wrote about her family. The father actually shoots his daughter's computer. Now his actions are getting mixed reviews.
http://www.wtkr.com/news/ktvi-father-shoots-daughters-computer-for-disrespectful-facebook-post-20120210,0,7690024.htmlstory
not the computer.... Hang him from the highest tree!
This is actually really good parenting.
That's a redneck right there. Got a problem? Just shoot it.
I liked his video. It was funny.
Good, she was an ungratefull bitch.
I would have just taken it away, but as a person who actually respects my parents I have to say I have no problem with this.
This is actually really good parenting.
I am not sure. A bit extreme, but maybe that's what it takes. Never the less, he doesn't ask too much of her.

If that doesn't get his point across, nothing will reach that ungrateful bitch.
The dad was trying to do some cooling holes for the laptop because it's obviously an average overheating HP.
The video in question.
Came into thread thinking the father was a maniac with serious problems. Watched the video and I applauded him.
everyone needs to watch the video before offering a judgement
The video in question.
I like this guy.
Honestly? I'd shake that man's hand.
I can actually see where he's coming from. I feel that this might not have been the correct response to the situation, but I can see why he did this and, in all honesty, I am unsure of an alternative that would have been as effective. Though if anyone's got one he most likely should have done that instead.

Shooting the expensive hardware just to prove a point seems retarded to me. Take the laptop away or wipe the harddrive or something. Some people got a buttload of money to throw around it seems... if it's always like this, I can see why the daughter turned out to be this obnoxious.

He fixed that.
I think they're both morons for not listening to each other.
I think they're both morons for not listening to each other.
How is the father a moron for not listening to his daughter demean him and the rest of the family?
I don't see why some of you are complaining about how drastic this is. It's not like he shot the computer right in front of her as she was using it. He took it away from her and then had some fun shooting a few rounds into it. Whether he took it away and used it for himself, sold it, gave it away, or trashed it, it really doesn't matter. Either way, she wasn't gonna be seeing that laptop again. I think the means were creative and pretty entertaining.
Better the computer than the daughter. People have killed each other for less before so at least this was responsible enough.
How is the father a moron for not listening to his daughter demean him and the rest of the family?
By listen to each other, people normally mean letting other people voice their concerns. Insults are not properly real words when you think about it the way you're meant to. Mouse is basically saying that the dad should have asked the girl to put her concerns into actual English, if you see what I'm saying.

But that's just my opinion.
That guy deserves a handshake.
wow how wasteful, they all seem to be a little bit retarded and i can see see how she grew up to be quite spoilt. kinda surprised at these dumbs, you know how much food the $1000 dollars for that laptop couldve given to impoverished african nations? seriously. life goes beyond the childish bickering between these terrible parents and their spoilt daughters
Both of them are dicks. She was a bitch, but he's overreacting like hollywood on piracy.
Personally, I don't think that would have worked. But that's just my opinion.
Well, it depends on what she says. A lot of times I've talked my brother into doing things gradually, like he starts with doing half a chore a day, then he does the whole chore, then you've got him happily washing the dishes and sweeping the floor. Better understanding of a cause leads to better treatment of the symptom, as they say.
