So it is like almost every game out there.
It's a useful safety feature to add that in there. Just their way of showing their position on the whole paid mod scene.
AFAIK, it was going to be up to the devs to allowed paid mods on their workshop anyways.
winner winner
Glad to see them take this position especially after I read what happened to the guy who made the fishing mod for Skyrim as part of the paid mod launch thing. I don't mind a system where modders potentially can get paid for their hard work. But the current system and the way Valve is handling it is utterly incompetent and idiotic. It smells like a business descision, not one to promote good modders and their content.
People are saying this isn't new. It has been in the EULA since before the paid mod announcement.
Good to see that PCgamesN will just look at the titles of most upvoted Reddit threads and then pass that information on as an article, without even taking 2 minutes of their time to check the facts. Games journalism at its finest.

Last EULA update was before Valve's announcement, and I believe the text about not allowing people to monetize mods has been in far longer (because, you know, it was standard practice up till now since there was no system in place to share revenue). [editline]25th April 2015[/editline] The fact that the games press has been very shit at analysing and discussing the implications and motivations behind paid mods has contributed greatly to the misinformation shitstorm and moral panic that's been going around the gaming communities.
I'm all for pay-what-you-want, but forcing people to pay for mods and then basically screwing them over if the mod doesn't work is just unfair. I'd like to see modders get paid for their hard work.
Killing Floor 2 END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT [EULA] 21 April 2015
Wow, they updated their EULA before Valve publicly announced sold mods! They reacted to it before it even happened! That's some great foresight! Great journalism, PCGamesN!
The guy who took down his own mod voluntarily?
Aye and when he contacted one of steam's lawyers about completely removing his mod from the workshop he got told they wouldn't unless they were legally compelled to do so. I suppose 'what happened to him' was a bit wrongly worded. I meant it more as 'what happened in his case and his views on the subject' kinda thing.
