Fucking post man doesn't knock on the door when delivering shit

Sorry for the rant, but this seriously fucking pisses me off.
Each time I've gotten something delivered via usps, the driver doesn't knock on the door, doesn't ring the doorbell, doesn't do anything but leave a fucking note and leaves.
I've even gone as far as getting on my bike with the slip and finding him around the corner, and then he says he isn't authorized to give it to me even though my ID matches the name and address on the slip, because he has to deliver it to the house and not to the person.
Just now he left a slip and started to leave, I run out the door barefoot in the rain as he's leaving my driveway, and he refuses to give me the package. Because it's saturday, the post office closes at 1pm, about 5 minutes after the guy brought the package, so I can't even go there and get it, or call them to get them to have the driver bring it back because they disconnect the lines at exactly 1pm.
I try calling the local office and not the main office, and they say that even though they have a list of all the drivers contact numbers, because it's after 1pm they can't fucking call them.
This has happened at least 5 times in the past few months, one time we specifically put for them to knock on the door or ring the bell when delivering, and it SAID it on the slip under special instructions.
Does this happen to anybody else, or does the post man just hate me for some reason? It doesn't even seem like they write the slip up at the door because of how quickly they come and go, it's like they write the slip beforehand with the intent of just blowing of delivering it.
Well if they're not authorized to actually deliver the package itself to you then they're just doing their job...
Perhaps he is simply lazy and doesn't want to inform people that their package has been delivered? Or as KaIibos posted perhaps he simply follows his directions to the letter. Don't hate on people for doing their job.

He was literally at the first house around the corner one time, and this time he wasn't even at the next house. He was JUST leaving my driveway.
This has never happened to me.
I usually get the package left at the door.
Call USPS and complain?
kill him.

He informs us just fine, but he doesn't give us a chance to GET the package. He pulls in the driveway, gets out, goes to the door, doesn't knock or ring the bell, and pretty much runs back to the car and goes away.
Hell, one time they didn't even give us a slip, the only reason I knew to go to the post office was because I checked the tracking and it said that it was delivered.
and send his body in a package to the usps boss, saying "sorry, couldn't deliver.

I have, they don't seem to do anything. I called the local branch but most of the time it's either busy or disconnected, and I called the main branch and they say to call the local branch.
At least he can drive to your house. Fucking post man didn't find my house. Just kept turning left instead of right :downs:. I was p lucky because I saw the guy turning in the wrong direction and called him to turn right instead of left. He had tried 3 times to deliver the package and just kept insisting that my address didn't exist.

Whenever I get packages delivered they simply drop it off at my door and leave. Then again most of the time I'm not home and my mom isn't either. I could see how it would be frustrating though.
So i decided to convert this amazing thread into musical pleasure on Facevent. Here's a recording.

Ups guy always rings my doorbell or something and leaves my package at the front door.
Where I come from, if nobody's home, the postman drops off the package at a neighbours.

wow.
That's cool.
OP. I share your pain in the stupidity of some of these people.
When I got my graphics card delivered, the mid 40's guy driving was listening to miley cirus.

:iceburn:
USPS never knocks on my door. We use UPS instead since it is better for package delivering.
:fuckyou:

Call his supervisor as he comes to the door and then catch him at it. Worth the face.
Wait, post men give you notices when you get a package?
Fuck man I have to call or go to find out if I have anything, you should feel lucky.

No, you should feel ripped off. If the package doesn't fit in the mailbox, its their JOB to bring it to the door, and if you have to sign for it and you aren't there, they HAVE to give you a notice, because they only hold it at the post office for so long before it gets returned to sender.
same thing with my guy, i ordered a guitar and the day i was expecting it he just left it infront of the garage in the cold :[

I can either get packages sent to my PO Box some 12 or so miles away, or have them sent to my home address, they aren't the same thing.
I guess it's different when you live in the middle of fucking nowhere.
