I was looking at upgrading my CPU and mobo, when I came across this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103858
I was just wondering if I would have any complications or compatibility issues with windows and what not, with it being a 6-core. I'm fairly new at this and don't know much about 6-cores.
well first of all we need to know what motherboard you're getting

also you probably won't use those 6 cores, unless you render stuff often
if you're gaming, then just stick to Phenom II x4, preferably the 955
This would be my motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131646
You're probably right about me not using all the cores. It would just be for gaming.
My original choice was this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103894 but I saw the 6-core for not too much more and just wondered about it.
ehh don't get the 970 - you can easily reach 3.6 on the 955, even on stock cooling
Good to know. As I said I'm fairly new at this. Thank you for the help I appreciate it.
