It isn’t only Monopoly: The Legend of Zelda that you can look forward to this year, with Monopoly: Pokémon Kanto Edition also shortly set to arrive at retail. This will see you select from six metal tokens – Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Eevee and Jigglypuff – before setting out on an adventure through the Kanto region. You will travel through all eight gyms, while Trainer Battle and Professor Oak cards replace the traditional Chance and Community Chest. Poké Marts and Pokémon Centers replace Houses and Hotels, with even Pokémon Money jazzing up what cash is usually found within the popular board game. GameStop have the alternate Monopoly version listed for $44.99, which will shortly launch on August 30th. so this is the change in focus nintendo was talking about
Thought there was a Pokemon Monopoly game based in Kanto back in 1997. Regardless, the amount of Monopoly/X board games that have been made kinda scare me. There's even a Bunnings Warehouse one.
so this is the change in focus nintendo was talking about
Nintendo has been doing monopoly boards for a long time http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003FNWR6Y/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1535523722&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000EXDOKQ&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=075ZBZC87TATNG2ZTAN0 http://www.amazon.com/MONOPOLY-Legend-Zelda-Collectors-Edition/dp/B00K3EYT50/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1408775347&sr=1-1&keywords=zelda+monopoly.
so this is the change in focus nintendo was talking about
Our new direction is so interactive, that it's actually REAL!
so this is the change in focus nintendo was talking about
Nintendo started out making board games before they made video games. They're going back to their roots.
Personally, i would've replaced Jigglypuff and Eevee with Meowth and Charizard...or even Mewtwo. unless it's supposed to cater to the old anime season, though why Eevee is beyond me. unless it's a worldwide release where Japan would probably accept Jigglypuff with open arms as a mascot, if Smash is anything to go by.
Why is everything so expensive? This doesn't look like it's worth $45.. You could buy a Pokemon game for that amount of money.

I'd pay for a Johto version.
I'd pay for a Johto version.
I'd pay for a Facepunch version.
I still have the original Pokemon Monopoly in my bedroom closet back home. Fun times.
That board looks like it was made in Photoshop in 15 minutes. Just plopping transparent easily-available images onto colored backgrounds. I don't think we need as many Monopoly variations as we have.
I don't think we need as many Monopoly variations as we have.
Of course we don't, but if they didn't keep on making them how on Earth would they get even more rich?
Thought there was a Pokemon Monopoly game based in Kanto back in 1997.
I still have that one somewhere in a box in the basement.

What about Fire Emblem Risk?

Though the original Pokémon Monopoly was based off of the anime and had a Mewtwo piece, IIRC.
Pretty sure I got a Pokemon monopoly like this back in the 90s. From memory even the tokens are the same characters..

One of the player pieces would be pewter model of Postal's ass.
haha retards what kind of nerd plays board games more like pokemon loser edition
One of the player pieces would be pewter model of Postal's ass.
I'm doing a board game project in school. I'm changing it entirely to make this a reality.
That's not Kanto Edition [t]http://i.imgur.com/ohXK8Gv.jpg[/t] THIS is Kanto edtion. [t]http://i.imgur.com/aWMUZHs.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/kdVuMve.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/snAcrou.jpg[/t] It comes with Pewter pieces, which makes it a bit more rare than the plastic piece version, from what I've seen. The downside, though, is that the pieces are of some more random Pokemon, compared to stuff like Mewtwo and the Starters. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Nz8Y1ia.jpg[/t] This game has given me so many memories. Friends still wanted to play a game on it even in my high school years. One thing odd about the game is it refers to the blue houses and Poke Centers and the red hotels as Poke Marts. I just like reversing the names to correspond with the games and their colors for centers and marts. One thing kickass about this version is the unique design of the marts and centers, which allows for stacking the blue marts on top of each other and making the Celedon shopping center. [t]http://i.imgur.com/tEavIEP.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/TJDeMVh.jpg[/t] This game is and continues to me one of my favorite things in general I own.
Pokemonopoly? I need that charmander token though.
So if you make friends with Pokemon, but loose friends with monopoly; then what the hell is going to happen when you play this!
I'll stick with my Digital Debit/Credit card version, handling money is a pain.
There's even a Bunnings Warehouse one.
This sounds like the perfect companion for alcohol
