Why do people even bother with blackberry's anymore? Any other modern smartphone kicks it's ass in everything. /opinion

All the kids seem to be wanting them for some reason, IMO I think they are mainly used in businesses.
Everyone I know has a blackberry.
When I got a Blackberry it didn't really do much, the internet just gave me "Failed to connect to the internet", It would randomly call people when in my pocket because of the blocky buttons, If it was password locked, it would call Emergency Services (happened WAY too many times for it to be funny). The keys were so small it was unbelievable. Glad I switched to an iPhone 4.
I live in Kitchener(RIM HQ) and everyone here knows it's because RIM has been playing it safe by releasing the same thing over and over with slight hardware upgrades, but all their devices are miles behind even a $250 HTC wildfire in terms of what they can do. All the UW students are going to work for google and apple, not for RIM. They aren't innovative and they're finally collapsing after riding they reputation as "the best" for too long.

Even many businesses are giving out android phones and iphones now.
I don't know if this just a Southern Ontario thing or what, but like 3/4 of people I know with a cell phone have some sort of Blackberry.
Are blackberry's worth it?
I have a blackberry, I must say, It's not the best phone ever, but It's the BEST phone I've ever seen for businessmen. The UI is really simple and classic, so even tech-illiterates can start using it right away. It has great, easy to setup email sync, and works especially well with gmail and hotmail, even better than most phones out there, multitasking works great, it has all funcionalities a businessman could need and great backup, and recover system, all blackberrys can be located in a map through GPS via blackberry protect, and if you can't find it or someone took it you can log in and make it sound fucking loud until you make it stop. The program also backups your data in the cloud, so you can restore all your data if you lost your phone, and you can also wipe out the phone entirely (no matter if they changed the GSM) to render it completely useless (you know, to troll thieves).

I can assure you that a stock android, windows phone 7 or iphone is 10x easier and simpler to use
Dear Blackberry,
just use Android and make some very good Android blackberry apps and/or optional UI. Your hardware's nice, but nobody wants a dying phone OS.

I'd love it if they brought bbm to android.

I read somewhere that the company who designed BBM had fallen out with blackberry over some sort of payment, and is working on an android/iphone release later this year.
I use Android, love it too much to switch.
Blackberry OS looks ancient, it reminds me of the cheap £30 phones I used to buy.
A few of my friends tell me that its a right arse on to get onto the blackberry store to get apps and games, so everyone just plays breakout on it.

Not a problem with Android, which I will now be staying with, permanently.
