[release]The father and brother of an actress who starred in Harry Potter have been charged with threatening to kill her at her home in Manchester.
Afshan Azad, 22, was cast as Padma Patil, a classmate of the child wizard in the film series.
Abdul Azad, 54, and his son Ashraf, 28, are alleged to have threatened her at her Longsight home. The 28-year-old is also accused of assaulting his sister.
Both men appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
The case was adjourned until July 12 for committal proceedings to Manchester Crown Court.
Miss Azad first appeared as her character - the identical twin sister of Parvati Patil - in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
She will also feature in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, the final film in the saga.[/release]
Silly religious fanatics.
Religious people, bless 'em. Can't we all just get along?
This is Longsight in Manchester, it's bat country out there.
I've been there a few times for curry, you have wars between gangs of Muslims over which bit of land belongs to who. Good entertainment whilst eating a curry.
There's a Harry Potter joke in there somewhere, I know it.
Shit like this makes all Muslims look like horrible people...
When will it end?
ugh stupid things like this make me rage people should be able to date who ever they want
Seems like her family noticed a little spark of magic between her and the hindu.

No but in all seriousness. It's awful that this happens, that you cannot respect another religion.

:golfclap:
I raged.
She need not worry, they will rot in Azkaban forever.
This religion, so peaceful. :downs:
Your a wizard Harry.
No, that joke didn't work.

There's no jokes to be made specifically about the situation, so here is a Harry Potter joke in general.

Well, sorry, we can't help being ridiculously sexy
And Harry though HIS family was short-fused...
After reading the title, I thought "Harry is Muslim AND gay?"
It's probably because he's a muggle.
its because they are from Manchester
It's shit like this that makes me afraid of telling anyone in my family or circle of friends that I'm no longer Muslim and that my girlfriend isn't a Muslim.
:ohdear:
The dad was going to cast Avada Kedavra on her.
This is why the fundamentalists need to be put on their own island.

Muslims aren't horrible people and nobody thinks that but their religion is pretty shit.
When will they learn that they can only get away with this shit in the Middle East and not the Western World.
The Hindu-Muslim conflict is so silly. It honestly doesn't make any sense, other than the possibility that it's because Islam is a monotheism, whereas Hinduism encompasses several gods. In my personal opinion, Hinduism makes more sense, since multiple deities that each specialise in different aspects of reality form a better working environment than a single god working as a jack-of-all-the-cosmos. Even though I don't believe in any religion, polytheism seems much more functional on a cosmic scale.
Regardless of that, it's still a foolish conflict, especially since it's a conflict of ideas and ideals. I hate those kinda conflicts, it's not even about anything one can physically acquire, it's just about different opinions, nothing remotely material about it.

Sounds like she's having a magical experience.
Shouldn't her family have killed her for promoting witchcraft any way? I mean if they're nutty enough to try and kill her for dating a hindu then I don't see why they didn't try kill her for insulting the holy Qur'an by being in that movie. Fucking idiots
Well, that could also be an ulterior motive. People sometimes have ulterior motives as well as apparent motives.
Like father like son.
Islam, the peaceful religion*.
