That $50,000 NES was featured on the Attack of the Show. AOTS talked about that auction, and said that the $50,000 NES wasn't sold. That listing was taken down soon after the auction ended. Apparently this seller thought it was bought for that much money, when really the listing was taken down.

In think the reason they sell for vast amounts sometimes is because of what the games are, a NES and 10 games were sold for about £3000 because there were only 100 copies of one of the games.
