lol ok
why don't devs do you know what... everyone in valve does and simply make it cater to more "Less power PC's"
And average Pc being not as powerful as ps4/xb3... no shit, but give a few years and it will get there. Average is definitly way way better than last gen ps3/xb2

Sensationalist as fuck title, he means FIFA players in general don't have as high specs as an average PC gamer.
Not powerful enough to run sports games?
lel
Their engine is built for next gen consoles you can't exactly cater that to lower end PCs.

Then just... lower the specs? Add a low res edition? ultra low res option?
fuck, if I made the game, I'd let you be able to go SO low rez, everything would be 1 color :v:

well fair but can't they have additional graphics settings?
They probably have physics calculations and other proprietary shit that low spec PCs just can't handle, much easier to keep using the current PC engine.

I think optimization and scaling is exactly what they're having problems with:
"There needs to be some adjustment in terms of how EA Sports Ignite works to facilitate the open nature of PC architecture, rather than the closed nature of console architecture."
It sounds like the engine was specifically designed for next gen console sport games. Which kinda fits the stereotype in my head of people primarily playing sport games on a console while sitting on a couch with a friend.
So I can see why they'd focus on that demographic specifically, but I dunno if what they're claiming about the average Fifa player's PC being not powerful enough is actually true and based on facts or just something that sounds better than "eh, most people don't play Fifa like that anyway".
They say as Battlefield 3 can run even on my shitty rig.
here's something to clear up stuff, and possible curb more kneejerk reactions
the average pc FIFA PLAYER has a pretty crummy pc, according to steam stats or ea's own stats or whatever
The average hardware specifications of PCs — not just PCs in general, but the PCs of those who would buy FIFA on that platform — need to catch up
They said AVERAGE pc you morons
the average pc is a shitty laptop that is used for facebook and google near exclusively and usually has on board gaphics
Some guy on my steam friend list has something in his name like "shitty pc :(" and I scrolled down the friend activity feed and he must of bought about 200 euro worth of games and pre orders in the last month.. if your pc is shit just save up instead of buying games you cant play..

Well considering Source is like 9 years old, no shit it can run on older computers pretty well

Source can be updated pretty well from what I've seen however, and valve optimizes it for just below and just above the average, rather than all the way above.
Sports game have a broader audience, re:casual. less people are going to actually bother to look at specs and whatnot, thus why football manager 2013's lowest system requirement is a 1.6ghz processor. Single Core. This is no surprise.
I don't see why most people care. Sports games are traditionally on console. Most people who play them don't have big beefy computers with gamepads to play games with.
Now when EA starts saying that Frostbite won't run on average gaming PCs, that's when you can throw a shitfit.
