all I really want is taskbar controls for spotify
is it too much to ask for
Why have they felt the need to change the layout throughout Win10's lifespan so far? It's an OS, you can't keep fucking with people's familiarity. It was fine at Windows 10's release, then they made the start menu worse in Anniversary, and now they're ruining the bottom right corner of my taskbar.
I swear, I have nothing against reinstalling Windows 7 if it means I don't have to deal with my OS slowly but constantly changing for no reason.

You wanna give me optional shit visual shit I won't use? Fine. You wanna force me to deal with forced unnecessary UI changes that do nothing to improve the convenience of my user experience? Stop.
Why can't they at least give everyone the option to use a dark theme on everything, including Explorer? The white makes my retina burn.
Does the concept of versions not exist?

What do you mean?
I wonder if this has something to do with the fact that Microsoft has not developed a consistent, all-encompassing visual language since 3.0, and has instead bolted new graphic design onto old UI elements in every iteration since XP?
Windows needs an OS X-style relaunch. And it needs it badly. Update everything that needs to be updated, and then lock it in and stop futzing with everything.

Windows 10 was their OS X-style relaunch. Microsoft is just bad at making operating systems.
I'm so glad I hackintosh'd this computer, UNIX-based environments are so much better and I still get all the industry standard software I need :v:

???
or do you mean like a permanent widget
I don't really care for forcing UI changes on users. People become comfortable with what they like. I don't want to have to get warmed up to new interface changes all the time. I barely like doing that in the beginning when I switch over from a previous/different OS in the first place.
Ms has a good framework for ten right now. Should stick with it.

OneCore isn't changing for this though
They're still expanding on it though, since it's new to the OS
For those who don't follow, OneCore is what lets people develop for the multiple versions of windows (xbone, vr, pc)
The news article is directly relating to an alternate design option for what's made with VR/AR in mind.
Instead of solid interfaces, these have a blur affect, so that users can have some depiction on what's behind it, as one pointer

Does spotify take media keys?
Could probably make a homemade widget that inputs kvm
All I want is for it to look consistent and not like a bunch of redundant menus with different styles.

Yes, yes it does.
how bout they make it work good first?
personally, i don't use a single native (non electron) windows application that doesn't already do its own skinning.
