Looks fun. Worth it?
To bad it isnt Forged Alliance, but this is still rather good. I find some single player missions to be a bit... impossible.
The Gold Edition is on sale for like 5$.
forged alliance is 75% off as well
Get forged alliance, its standalone and adds so much more.
or rather, get the pack!
I remember when my bro registered his retail copy on Steam. Free copy of Forged Alliance. :v:
oh man and i just got my ass kicked in this again
Is forged alliance number 2? [the one that released on consoles as well] if not, is this one better?
I remember when my bro registered his retail copy on Steam. I personally recommend both, SupCom1/FA and SupCom2, both really fun in their own ways
Supreme Commander is definitely in my top 3 favorite RTS games of all times, its an amazing game and if you are looking for a deep and complex game then you can't go wrong.
I remember when my bro registered his retail copy on Steam. Free copy of Forged Alliance. :v:
Heh, I had retail copies of both SupCom and FA, I used one key on Steam for myself and gave the other to a friend, now both of us have both games :v:
I remember when my bro registered his retail copy on Steam. That said, there's a community patch that does bring them together.
Is forged alliance number 2? [the one that released on consoles as well] if not, is this one better?
Essentially the series goes something like this Total annihilation (cavedog) 98? - spiritual parent, and still has the best economy system of them all Supreme Commander - THQ+GPG - fairly slow, pretty complex economy Supreme Commander: Forged alliance - THQ+GPG - standalone exp pack for Sc, streamlined, made faster, overall awesome Supreme coomander 2 - Squeenix+GPG - completely redone economy to make it more like other RTS games (aka not doing what was amazing about TA+supcom), streamlined even more, really weird lore decisions and really bad unit design
I used to play TA in my lunch breaks at primary school, haha, how complex is it? Cause I don't want to invest a lot of time learning, I might just buy FA if its streamlined then
The Supreme Commander Gold Edition is also 75% off, making it cheaper than buying both games separately.
I've probably got 3 copies of that game. And now here I am buying it Again. Hopefully for the last time. But for those who haven't played these games, go for the Gold version. Both games have good campaigns. Forged Alliance having the best one out of all of the SupCom series. Also mods. This is probably the single most important tip I can give to anyone who hasn't played these games.
FWI everyone that gets this -needs- to get the Forged Alliance Forever Mod http://www.faforever.com/ Since GPGnet is pretty much dead and runs on an outdated version of the game, FA Forever makes it so the game runs on the update beta build that was never approved by THQ (since they kind of went under). It also adds a bunch of awesome features such as being able to jump into live multiplayer games as a spectator and have full replay control while this is going on (i.e. a match that is 40 minutes in, you can view any point of the match up to that 40 minute point at which point it goes to being a live spectator). In addition, you can quickly and easily switch between game modes/mods/versions of the game without having to do anything, TrueSkill ranking, etc.

Your post has shown me that it was my destiny to resist all those sales. I thank you.

Alive as in thousands of people, possibility of getting better instead of just getting assraped over and over by the same few hardcore pro players over and over
Do you need SupCom to enjoy FA experience to the fullest? I hear something about only being able to play one class?
Do you need SupCom to enjoy FA experience to the fullest? I hear something about only being able to play one class?
if you only have FA you can only play the seraphim in MP. Seraphim are pretty cool but I'd grab supcom1 as well if you plan to MP a lot. That said you can skirmish against AI bots and do the campaign as anyone. [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] Gold is $5 compared to $3.75 individually. Just buy gold.
I just wanted to tell everyone: BUY THE GOLD EDITION. Maybe even twice. Supreme Commander was fucking awesome and Forged Alliance made it even better and then there are a few mods that tweak and add to the interface too and that makes it even betterer. Just buy it already. I bought the gold edition for 10€ from Amazon a few years ago and I've played it more than all other RTS I ever owned combined.
I bought the gold edition 3-4 times. I've also been playing the same skirmish match for the past 3-4 hours.
Get Forged Alliance (or rather, the Gold Edition) so you can play SC multiplayer.
Can I also reccomend anyone interested in supreme commander / total annilhiation check out the spiritual successor which is being developed? It's called planetary annilhiation, key developers from the previous games are making it. http://www.uberent.com/pa/

It's alive enough to get a game going I'd assume. Their forums seem pretty active too.
