Among the improvements that Seigo talks about in this Plasma Workspaces 4.8 posting is the OpenGL ES and Compositing Performance improvements (thanks to Martin Gräßlin's continued work on KWin), lots of bug fixes, and improved power management. The improved power management is also fixing a large number of stability/predictability-related bugs, such as for handling multi-screen power management situations, etc." Source
I'm loving KDE. Great DE.
I'm not using KDE but it's still a very good DE
I really gotta try KDE again sometime..Last experience I had with it was horrid - horribly default layout, confusing and counter-intuitive settings, KWin lagged a ton.. That was back when 4 was first released, IIRC. Or maybe 4.1/4.2 or something. I forget.
I'm not a fan of KDE. I know it can be customized, but I can never get it to feel right unlike GNOME/XFCE. It's just so... ugly.
I personally like the KDE interface.
That looks amazingly simple, yet functional. :) I love panels on the left, just not paired with Gnome 3.x
