Alright so, I'm having a little trouble playing Need for speed, Actually, a lot. I bought NFS:HP during the Holiday deals on steam for 30$. Well after it finished downloading, I clicked play, Screen goes black, soon after it goes back to my desktop, and it says the Game has stopped working, this crushed me, I spent 30 dollars on a game I cant play, so I looked around and saw a few things I might be able to fix. Well see, I saw that Need for speed has trouble running on quad core. So people said when launch the game, launch task manager and go to properties and change it to 0 and 1 only, Well problem is, as soon as I launch it crashes right after, so when I do change it I don't think it saves because I launched it again and it still on all four. My computer reaches way more then the min specs. So can facepunch help me out> I tried reinstalling it and that didn't work
My specs are
4 gigs of RAM
500 gig Harddrive
Nvidia GeForce 460
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core i5 CPU
Try setting the game to run in compatibility mode windows XP service pack 3, and if you have UAC enabled it to run as an administrator, if that doesn't work make sure to scan the game cahce, do this by right lcicking on the game going to properties, click the local files tab, then click verify integrity of game cache.
Hope this helps.
Well I tried to run the game in Windows XP SP 3 and it didn't work. I changed the UAC and still no luck, its Scanning the game now though so hopefully it works
