Her name was put forward by three members of the Norwegian parliament from the ruling Labor Party on their website Friday, which was the deadline for nominations. She was also reportedly nominated by members of parliament in France, Spain and Canada. NBC News has not confirmed that information. To be sure, it is very early in the Nobel process, which culminates with a winner in October.
I hope Obama wins it.
I hope Obama wins it.
Why?
fuck obama he is a muslim terrorist that is trying to steal away muh guns and muh freedumbs.
Can we stop doing this in every thread that has the faintest relation to Obama? Frankly it's annoying.
Can we stop doing this in every thread that has the faintest relation to Obama? Frankly it's annoying.
Obama apologist!
This thread deteriorated faster than it should have. I hope that even if she doesn't win, she'll get more attention for her cause.
Oh, holy shit, she survived. Well that's good, and hopefully she wins, or at least brings attention to her cause.
And a new record for fastest derailed thread, clocking in at one post Also good for her, She deserves it
Who are the other candidates for this prize?
Islam should win it.
Who are the other candidates for this prize?

50 Year Secrecy Rule The Committee does not itself announce the names of nominees, neither to the media nor to the candidates themselves. In so far as certain names crop up in the advance speculations as to who will be awarded any given year's Prize, this is either sheer guesswork or information put out by the person or persons behind the nomination. Information in the Nobel Committee's nomination database is not made public until after fifty years.
So it all depends on the group/government that nominates the person.
Why do they not announce the nominees for 50 years?
Why do they not announce the nominees for 50 years?
Try reading, perhaps? It says it right there. To avoid speculation and favor.
Why do they not announce the nominees for 50 years?
targeted disappearances?
I sometimes bump into the Nobel peace prize commending guy (who also used to be Norway's PM) on the train, because he lives right by my place and takes the train to Oslo. Next time I bump into him I'll tell him "if you pick Malalala Yousafzai for the Nobel prize you'll finally pick a candidate that makes a forum you've never heard of on the Internet not throw a fit." EDIT: Not making Facepunch throw a fit is deserving of a peace prize in itself.

knowing the nobel prizes she'll probably lose to al gore and a powerpoint with more exclamation points and clip art than information
