Hey guys, I'm looking for a little upgrade here, as I've currently got a single gtx 470. I was wondering if I should buy another, or get a 500 series (maybe sell the 470 or give it to a friend). I'm really clueless when it comes to SLI configurations, though.
Here's my build:
2 hard drives
650 watt psu
gtx 470
i5 750 2.67
1080p monitor
Anyone know if SLI is worth the time?
You'd definitely be getting more performance if you get another GTX 470, but getting a GTX 470 at a decent price might be tricky, I remember there being a re-certified shop by Asus that sold them sometimes?
And you'll have to tell us your motherboard and specific PSU, 650w should be the absolute minimum for two 470's and if it gets any less than rated you may encounter problems.

Thanks for your help.
The power supply might be fine (624w) but it may be cutting it slightly, and the motherboard only supports 16/4 and I'm not quite sure how much that'll bottleneck a 470.
It might just be worth keeping the 470 for now and waiting for the new 7000 AMD series late this year or 600 Nvidia series in 2012, the 470 is still more than capable by itself.
