Internet Connection disconnecting and reconnecting.

I'm literally ripping my hair out because of this problem. I have an intermittent problem with my internet DSL connection. It will stay up for maybe half an hour or so, and then it suddenly turns off for about 2 minutes and then switches back on automatically. I've rung my phone line provider and they've found no issues with the line so the problem couldn't possibly originate from them. Broadband provider has also said their end has no problems I've tried diagnosing the problem but that has also returned no available reason. It's been doing this frequently over the past two weeks. Can anyone help?
I had a very similar problem. I lived with it for about 2 years and dealt with the ISP tech support people saying it MUST be a problem with my internal wiring or router. I tried changing my router to no avail, and I was confident it was not the internal wiring
They simply would not come out to check, but eventually we told them if they came out and it was our fault (internal wiring or something), we'd pay them the price it would have been to fix it if it was their fault (£200 or something)
They agreed and came to check.
Not a penny was lost that day :v:

I was also told that apparently the cause is that my main telephone line is not connected to the router. I've had the same wiring for 8 years :downs:
Changing my cable adapter (the one that splits ethernet and phone) made it better. And phone quality somewhat improved too.
Get a proper virus check on your computer, multiple antivirs if possible ( most have fully functional trials ).
It could be a virus that sends loads of bad packets from your computer to your router and up to 80MB/s or faster connection (depending on your lan speeds).
Your router could easily malfunction under such load. Good sign of that is when you turn on your computer and dont use internet very much and router still gets quite hot.
I got such nasty one at a lan party, Nod32 didn't instantly find it, only later on full scan. And the net usage didn't show in the task manager either. WireShark had tonns of packets per second and the program almost crashed my computer because of the amount of packets.
Hope that helped some!

Well I only got this new laptop a week ago but I'll give it a try and see what happens.
EDIT: Nothing was detected but alot of incoming ports from Bittorent. I've ended the program and the internet hasn't gone off at all.
