For the past month I've been having this problem where any changes in Netflix and Amazon Prime restart my 2 monitors that are connected via HDMI and DPtoHDMI adapter. I contacted MSI who suggested that I RMA the card (I did and just got it back today (the 6th)) and it's doing it again. I've also tried about 4 different driver versions and they all do the same thing. Nvidia wasn't any help. Also tried DVI/DVI/HDMI but no dice. So yeah... I'm kind of stuck as to what's causing this.

Edit2
This only happens when watching stuff on Amazon Prime and the Netflix W8 app. Everything else is fine including games.
Since it's been about 4 days and I've been in contact with MSI ever since last month (at around Nov 10th). I did reformat but that didn't fix any problems. I installed Windows updates and 8.1... nothing. I'm really stumped as to what's causing this problem.
Sounds like a weird HDCP negotiation issue. Do your monitors fully support HDCP?
Specs on the official site and Newegg says they support it

Here's some random quotes from the live chat I did with Netflix.... twice.
Ahh totally understand what you're saying. And hey, this issue that you're experiencing are factors from configuration issues. What I can suggest you do, is contact the manufacturer to get the proper configuration steps and have them optimize the connections so you can have the 3 screens functioning as they should.

So hey, I was definitely chatting with my engineers as to why this is happening. They had advised me that what's happening is just a misconfiguration between the 3 screens. Fixing this is going to take some optimizing and some DE-fragmenting on all three devices. Once this is done and you clean the discs you should be good to go.

Ahh gotcha! SO hey, it seems as if you have done everything right, and my engineers here tried their best to see why that's happening. At this point, I would recommend reaching out to Asus techs and explaining to them that something is getting lost in translation between these 3 monitors. It's only because my tools are a bit limited to research issues other than Netflix related issues, if I could wave my hand and give you some steps to fix this I really would.

The second is that it could be something with Windows and how they handle the application, I do know that there is a lot of DRM coding in that program and it could be causing that due to security checks.

The thing I am running into is that you are using a setup on your computer that is "non-traditional" Which means that I simply don't have the training on what could cause this. There are too many factors.
This was around when I was using Nvidia Surround. I'm not using it now.
It wouldn't hurt at all do to so in this case, It is just unexplored territory for us though.

I don't like passing the ball, but this does rest with how the GPU or OS handles things.
And Asus....
"Ultimately this is a issue that would be caused by the system itself and not the monitor. There is not a setting in the monitor itself that you can change that would change this. You could try going into your Windows sleep settings but beyond that there would have to be an issue with the card or system that is causing this."
I did a reformat and didn't change any sleep settings as I was doing updates
You may need to contact Microsoft regarding what specific settings you would need to change to control this. You could try switching your video cables around and testing the monitors on another system if possible just to rule out any further issues, but there are not any settings on the monitor's end
you can change for this.
I did do this but it still did it
Unfortunately it sound slike a issue with the card itself at this point.
The card it'self works fine... I was capable of running games in 1080p with max settings and Physx without and artifacts and slow downs
I understand that but the issue only happens when the monitors are connected to the card itself. There would have to be an issue with the card itself at this point and not the monitors because they do not have this issue when connected to the integrated graphics.
And this is why DRM is draconian shit.
Have you tried installing a different version of Windows? Try installing a Windows 7 trial and see if you experience the same problem.
It's the Netflix app from the W8 store that's causing the issue. The site actually works fine. I was watching The Black Adder for about 2-3 hours last night on the site without any problems. I'm also getting another problem with the app.
(not my picture) This happens when dragging the window from one monitor to the next causing the monitor it was previously on to restart.
Have you tried.. not using the Window 8 application?
Been using the site ever since this problem occurred.
Well... Updated the app and closing and changing episode only restarts the HDMI monitor while it's on that screen. Moving the app to the DP2HDMI still resets both and dragging the window across both monitor still resets the previous one. I really haven't bothered contacting Netflix since they'll tell my the same thing they've told me the last 3 times I contacted them. Haven't bothered with Amazon Prime since my trial expired. I have thought of buying a new adapter but I'm not really gonna spend 40$ on one in hopes of it not fixing this problem. I did email MSI about updating the app and they basically said that they can't reproduce this problem. "everywhere we consult, it seems to be isolated to Netflix app and windows 8.1. Although we were not able to replicate it here." are the exact words they said. So it seems like I'm shit out of luck in regards to this problem.
Any luck with this issue?
I have been having the exact same problems, Amazon Prime video on a web browser and the Netflix Windows 8.1 app are cutting out. With Netflix I have to actually unplug the HDMI cable to get the screen back on. With Amazon the video just cuts out for a second, then has to reload, it's really aggravating.
My system is completely different than yours though.
Windows 8.1 x64
Intel i3 3250
Sapphire HD 7750 (Catalyst 13.12)
Gigabyte H77N MB
LG 32LN5300
That LG is a TV, with only two HDMI inputs and nothing else.
I've been using a DVI to HDMI cable from the 7750. My suspicion has always been that this is some HDCP issue, but there doesn't seem to be much I can do about that. I never had problems with my old Dell 2709W, so I'm assuming it's the new LG, or some combination of monitor/cable/GPU driver.
