[release] A SLEEPY snake has come to a an untimely end after having its head half chewed off by a fearless toddler. Thirteen-month-old Imad Aleeyan, who has six teeth, was found chewing on the head of the 30cm snake by his mother in an Arab town in northern Israel, the child's family said yesterday. The mother alerted the neighbourhood with her screams. "I was making his milk and I looked over and saw he had a snake in his mouth," said Ghadir Aleeyan who lives in the town of Shefa'Amr, 15km east of the port city of Haifa. "I started to scream. I couldn't believe my eyes," she said. "I nearly died of fright." Her screams brought the rest of the family - and the neighbourhood - running. "We rushed in and found the baby with a snake in his mouth, chewing it. It was really scary, just horrible," the boy's aunt, Yasmin Shahin, said. A neighbour who had rushed to see what was going on yanked the half-dead reptile out of the boys mouth and killed it, she said. "When he pulled it out, Imad started crying," she said, describing the snake's head as "very badly chewed" when it emerged from the boys mouth. They immediately checked the child for any bite marks but found none, with doctors at Rambam hospital in Haifa confirming he was unharmed. "Doctors at the hospital told us the snake was really poisonous but that we were very lucky because they release less venom in the winter," she said. But Dr Boaz Shacham, an expert on amphibians and reptiles, said that from looking at images of the smashed-up serpent online, it appeared to be a coin-marked snake (hemorrhois nummifer), a non-venomous species which resembles a viper. Such snakes grow up to 1.3m in length, he said suggesting it was a "very young" specimen. "It probably didn't bite the child because of the cold," said Dr Shacham who is the head of the herpetology collection at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. "They are not really active in winter."[/release] http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/toddler-chewed-snakes-head/story-e6frg12c-1226255943328 That poor snake. Death penalty should be given.

this child is destined for greatness
Probably gonna grow up to be a badass. Though the question is if it's a good one or a bad one.

That kid is going to be a really manly man when he grows up.
Poor snake, I can't blame the baby for doing it because he's a baby but the snake had its head badly chewed and still wasn't dead when it was pulled out :(

That baby is more man than all of us Chew on that
Is it bad that I laughed when I read that his name is "Imad"?
Baby has no fear because baby knows no fear. A few years of media exposure should fix that.
That kid is hardcore.
Sounds like normal silly toddler stuff to me. If it fits in their mouth and they can pick it up, they'll chew on it
"Doctors at the hospital told us the snake was really poisonous but that we were very lucky because they release less venom in the winter," she said.
Err, what? Poisonous and venomous animals are entirely different. Venom has to be actively injected or administered, such as through a bite or a sting, so a venomous animal will have to inject it to the target. It's perfectly possible to eat a venomous animal, as the body will dispose of the venom and digest the actual animal. Meanwhile, poisonous animals have to be eaten to be dangerous - they can't actively inject you with a poison, they have to be eaten to affect you. Of course, you can get poisonous, venomous animals, but as far as I am aware, the only true poisonous snakes are in keelback snakes, whilst this was a coin-marked snake, which is in an entirely different genus.
Snakes get such a bad rap, they really are not bad. Most of them you can just pick up if you know how to handle them. me and snakes are bros. Although as my title suggests I am biased.

Don't give ideas to Hollywood !
I hope he isn't Islamic because in that case I should get used to not eating pork.
Samuel L. Jackson could've used this kid on that plane.
I for some reason assumed that ''snake's head'' was some sort of a slang/metaphor for penis.... :tinfoil:
Snake owner brofist.
Actually that one is wild, I rarely keep snakes for more than a few days before letting them back go. I am more of a turtle pet owner. (I have 17 turtles and some tortoises)
Snake? Snake? SNAKEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
