Higher end games will be hard to run at high res/quality settings, but Minecraft and 'light games' should be mostly fine.

Add £70 to that for OEM windows 7...
Also ~£12 for a DVD drive.

I would personally choose a less expensive processor (Pentium G630) and put the difference of money on a better graphic card (such as the HD 6670)

Also no offense, but that DDR3 graphic card is going to be a huge bottleneck
If the budget was like 350 you could get a decent build that's also prety..fast ish

He said light games, it's just how far 'light games' extends to.

Not really a good reason to choose a priced processor (since a G840 is just a G630 with a few more Mhz) instead of a better graphic card imo
hmmmm thanks for the feedback, have some decisions to make !
Ok so the budget has actually gone up to £300 now, any improvements on the whole build?
The performance can be increased a lot with that 100 pounds, i'll see if I will do a list sometime soon.
so has anyone got any ideas?
He's got a third of a £600 budget, tell him that and he might save for longer and get a hell of a lot more bang for his buck
