omg its so cool and mysterious
A++
despite the page-stretching, it's actually interesting looking. If you didn't explain what it was specifically, it'd be much more artistic-feeling... that, and if you'd take away the frame. It isn't as bad as it could be, but whatever.
If you don't mind, maybe re-upload a version that's 75% or even 50% of the current size, for page-size's sake.

word.
I kinda can't see it, since i have a really small laptop. So if you could resize it, it would be great.
What the butt, that's not photography, that's taking some obscure snaps then importing straight to PS apply some shitty filters or some crap.
I don't mean to flame but...Jesus Christ.
I think you need to hover your carpet.

Don't look at it that way. This picture has lots of feeling to it.

At most, the shadow figure is interesting - perhaps something to accompany an online horror fiction etc. - but overall I feel this is pretty empty, bland.. you KNOW it's some guy running up the stairs playing with a camera.
I wouldn't particularly say it's art - this guy hasn't waited days, weeks, for that perfect beautiful shot we can all appreciate, no, like a lot of other photagraphy work I've seen on CC it's dark, ominous, obscure, meaningless.
"Edgy".
I'm very impressed.
Yea, you're actually right. But i don't consider photography art anyways, but that's just me. I think art is something you create yourself, not beautiful things you take pictures of.
I do like photography though, I just don't consider it art.
Also, he never claimed this to be artistic, dark or deep.
you know, art doesn't necessarily require a deep amount of time investment to get the perfect shot. Sometimes it just comes at a whim.
I remember a few months back, I went for a long drive in the early hours of the morning, hoping to find some new and interesting place to catch a photo of the sunrise. I thought I'd surely find something, somewhere, somehow that was worth more than the little areas I frequent near where I live.
So I drove.
and drove...
and crossed into another state.
I found many things, took many pictures, but didn't find that perfect shot I was hoping for, as the clouds were in the way of a proper sunrise.
So, hungry and defeated, I drove the 45 minutes back home, and as I entered my subdivision, the sky opened up and the sun beamed down through all the cracks, lighting streaks in the misty morning fog that comes up from the nearby marsh.
I pulled my car over, dove out, and snapped one picture.
it was the only picture I kept from that day.
Once again, i have to agree with you daijitsu. Art is not about time and in some cases it's not even about effort.

you realize you can zoom out of the page by pressing CTRL and the "-" key, right? or alternatively holding CTRL while you scroll down on your scroll wheel

define photography
even my 17" laptop can only see about half of it. If you right click it and view it in a new window, it'll zoom to fit your screen, but not everyone knows to do that.
Personally I try to keep images in an OP down below 600 to 800 wide.

sorry, i just have a hard-on for high resolution. once you shoot in RAW, you never compromise.
I know the functions, but it just makes everything easier when it fits the screen better.

Oh, I have nothing against shooting in RAW, I do that 99% of the time (the other 1% is when I'm being touristy and don't want to edit up everything just to post it up on facebook or whatever).
I just suggest that, after editing and such, reducing the photo for presentation and giving the option to see the hi-res if you feel it necessary.
I think this could be more effective if you took the same shot, put it in a low-light situation, then set the shutter speed for a longer time (10, 15 seconds?) and instead walked slowly up the stairs.
It looks like a ghost or something is going up the stairs.
how about this? was shot on 35mm film.
