• PC Crashes Randomly

Hello fellow FPers! So I built my computer about a year ago but since around 6 months ago it has been having a crashing issue. It appears to only occur whilst playing games and I have tried numerous things to fix the issue but it still persists. Either my display crashes which the computer remaining on (fans leds and such still working) or my computer shuts off by itself completely. When the computer remains on (with display crash), it won't turn off when holding down the power button, it requires me to pull the power cord out of the PSU to shut it off. No, it is not a temperature issue. My video cards idle at around 45 Celsius and max out at 70 Celsius. My processor never gets hotter than around 47 Celsius. I've taking these temps from HWmonitor, CpuZ, GpuZ and MSI Afterburner. I thought these symptoms may be indicative of a faulty power supply but I replaced it and the crashing still persisted. I also thought that perhaps my video cards were dead but no I replaced them as well and it still persisted. I ran memtest for four hours and no errors arose. I always update my drivers to the most current ones. The only temperature that stands out to me in HWmonitor is the TMPIN1 temp which maxes at around 68 Celsius. The weirdest part of this issue is that it seems to appear and disappear at will. Sometimes it happen 3 days in a row. Sometimes it happens and then waits another week to do it again. The longest period of time in which it didn't happen was around a month long. Lately, it has been happening rather often (last 3 days including today). I'm starting to think that my motherboard is the problem at this point but I want some other's opinions before I go out and buy a new one. Perhaps it's a software issue? Thanks in advance! Bummer, I'd hate to see such great h/ware go to waste... I'm also under the impression that it's the mobo. To be on the safe side, I recommend running pc check by eurosoft http://www.eurosoft-uk.com/pccheck.html before chucking anything into the trash. It tests all onboard hardware and expansion devices and will give you a clear reading if your hardware is defective.
Interesting. I didn't know that something like that even existed. I'll try it out and report back later. Thanks a bunch. Edit: Oh is this not free?

Thank you good sir. Edit: Currently running the diagnostic ill report back when it's done.
So I ran all of the tests on the processor, memory, motherboard and hard drive and they all passed. The only thing that was off was the motherboard CMOS clock ... it was like 3 seconds off my system clock and I had the program fix that for me. I highly doubt this was what was causing my crashing but I've been wrong before. Any ideas?
