Who are these strange fellows? And what do they do?
Well, they're called Jay Lane, Larry LaLonde and Les Claypool, and they are the current members of Primus!
Formed in 1984 by vocalist and bassist Les Claypool, alternative metal band Primus is one of the strangest bands I know of. Their music doesn't really have a specific genre, although alternative metal describes them the best. They have been called everything from "thrash-funk meets Don Knotts, Jr." to "the Freak Brothers set to music."
In a Primus song you will hear an amazing bassline, and some fine guitarwork utilizing the higher strings and the drummer doing his best in following the flow of the bass, which is not an easy task when it comes to Les Claypool.

The band currently consists of:

And that's it.
Now post about how much you love Primus and would give you life for Les Claypool or go away.
I like Primus.
Mostly the first album.
Goddamn these guys are brilliant. Seas of Cheese and Frizzle Fry are my favourites.

I also really like their contributions with other artists!
With Buckethead:

With Tom Waits:

Awesome band.
Took the time yesterday to learn My Name Is Mud properly, it is a lot of fun to play.
Primus sucks.
I find the lack of Over The Electric Grapevine in the OP extremely disturbing.

Primus does suck...
Those damn blue collared tweekers
Shake hands with beef :v:
My friend is also obsessed with les claypool
A lot of people seem to dislike them.
Understandable really
I've not heard much of them but it basically seems to just be Les Claypool wanking off his bass
[editline]15th April 2011[/editline]
And they sound really quite weird :v:
These guys suck.
I fucking love Primus, these guys are really something else. Both Claypool and LaLonde are great, very creative with their playing and do some really neat stuff. Les Claypool has gotta be one of my favorite musicians, period - I really respect the guy.
Saw them live last summer, must have been the most fun show I've ever been to. And they played stuff from Brown Album, hell yes.
Brown Album, Frizzle Fry, and Tales From The Punchbowl are probably my favorite records of theirs. Pork Soda is also awesome. Really stoked about the apparent possibility of a new album.
Here, have more video spamming. Few tracks I really dig in particular.

Southbound Pachyderm
Did any of you watch the live version of "My Name is Mud" in the OP?
"You know, when you throw stuff on stage... it's a sign of small and insignificant genitalia..."
My bassist is going to see Primus live
Primus Sucks. I swear if anyone says "Primus dosen't suck", then I will have to go hurt myself. Real Fans know what it means!
I heard that they don't like that slogan anymore.
I heard that they don't like that slogan anymore.
They don't.
Unfortunately for them, however, it's too catchy to die.
Also: I heard they refuse to play "Wyona's Big Brown Beaver" now because it got too popular.
hipsters
OP You forgot something important.
Primus made the South Park intro song
[editline]16th April 2011[/editline]
but everybody knows that
you forgot "Suck on This"
great album

Added all of these to OP.

Yeah, it's a great song.
"Say, baby, do you wanna lay down with me?"
I like Jerry Was A Race Car Driver, it was featured on Tony Hawk's Skateboarding. (The first one)
[editline]16th April 2011[/editline]
Also, my surname is Primus. :buddy:
Random little primus fun fact, but the album "Tales from teh Punchbowl" is actually from parties they used to go to where the punch was frequently laced with LSD.
:v:
Also Primus is fucking glorious, love me some slap and funk bass, also Les Claypools solo stuff like "Of Whales and Woe" and "Of Fungi and Foe" is damn good.
[editline]16th April 2011[/editline]
You made me listen to them again.
Yeah, but I have a question for you.
Why did you ever stop in the first place?
Shit dude, Of Whales And Woe is fucking great. Still need to get Fungi and Foe, though. I also really dug "Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains." Damn it man, Claypool and Buckethead need to collaborate more.
Also fuck yes Tommy the Cat is one hell of an awesome song. I really like the music video too, with the old 1940s-esque animation style going on and everything. Shit Primus's music videos in general are awesome.
What's your favorite Primus song?
Mine would have to be "To Defy The Laws of Tradition".
The intro is amazing.
Favourite? That's a hard one. I'd probably say "Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers".
Eleven's a really underrated Primus song.
^Eleven is great, and has the most badass-sounding intro ever.
Huh... I like a lot of 'em, and it tends to change every now and then. At the moment I'd probably say Golden Boy or Southbound Pachyderm.
Actually, it might be "Hellbound 17 1/2" off Tales From The Punchbowl. I really like that one for some reason.
