The fake ID card featured a photo of Bobby Hill from the Channel 4 TV show King Of The Hill and showed him to be 17. But six out of 22 shops in Nottinghamshire served the 18-year-old volunteer despite him showing them the card when he was asked for ID. And a further seven served him without asking his age, said Nottinghamshire County Council. The council said it would be issuing advice to all the shops who wrongly served the volunteer during the undercover operation and encouraged all retailers to adopt the Challenge 25 policy. The policy encourages retailers to ask for ID from anyone who they believe may be 25 or under. Mick Murphy, the chairman of the council's community safety committee, said: "We take the sale of age-restricted products to children very seriously. "Although the volunteer was 18, we would strongly recommend that retailers always ask purchasers of goods such as alcohol and cigarettes for identification if they look under 25. "It is disappointing that around a quarter of the shops tested did not properly check the identification that they asked for before accepting it. "We are warning shops that we are considering using a child with fake ID following the results of this exercise."
dangit bobby what did I tell you about going to the liquor store ID thanks to Anti Christ and mac338:
dangit bobby~
Gosh darndit Blobbey EDIT: I've never watched the show I'm just trying to fit in
That boy ain't right.
I guess this shows that people really don't care if your underage or that they don't pay attention to the card at all and just look at it so on camera it looks like they are doing what they are supposed to be doing.
I'd Tell you H'wat wait this is the U.K isn't 18 the drinking age over there
But six out of 22 shops in Nottinghamshire served the 18-year-old volunteer despite him showing them the card when he was asked for ID.
I spy 6 employees who are going to get fired.
Erm I think I misread it
You can't really blame the sellers who didn't ask the ID of a 18-year old guy (assuming he looks 18).
I'd Tell you H'wat wait this is the U.K isn't 18 the drinking age over there
It is if the person looks under 25 you have to ask them for I.D, just incase - the point of the op was to make sure they were actually checking I.D and not just asking for it to comply with the law
I'd Tell you H'wat wait this is the U.K isn't 18 the drinking age over there
Wondering the same.
I spy 6 employees who are going to get fired.
13, actually. They said 7 more didn't even card him or ask for his age.

No pic of the ID?
Got Dangit, Bobby!
He just wants to drink in the alley with his dad. Edit: This is not something to do if you are looking to be a block captain sometime in your future.

Wow. That's just retarded.
Here's another source, with a pic of the ID.
It's called sarcasm you fucking moron.
Why are we so angry you moderately obiese boofleberry!?
It's called sarcasm you fucking moron.
Sarcasm doesn't convey well through the internet.
I think part of the problem is that, oh I dunno, the date of birth was 17 years old. And yeah, the picture
Sarcasm doesn't convey well through the internet.
It was pretty obviously sarcasm.
If only his name was McLovin.
Wasn't there an episode were bobby got drunk?
Damn that's a sexy looking card. I don't know how our normal ID cards look, but the driver licenses aren't that cool looking. It's very cluttered with information.
I wish there was a photo of the person, to see if they actually looked like Bobby. [editline]17th August 2012[/editline]
"But salesman behind counters in Nottinghamshire failed to notice the cartoon character on the fake identity card was Bobby King. And the age given on the document was only 17."
More quality journalism from the Daily Mail. :v:
