I converted a file to MPG and now it says it doesn't have an owner, keeping me from copying, deleting, moving, literally anything having to do with it. I've attempted to use the GUI to change ownership and am getting access denied there too. I've tried using takeown /f [file] /a, that didn't work. I also tried icacls [file] /grant administrators:f to no avail. Even attrib -r -s -a -h [file] didn't work. I get access denied on everything. Can anyone offer me any help? Google is running out of ideas.
I'm running 7 and was running the cmd prompt as administrator.
Is the file read-only?
Right click it, go to Properties, then Security, go to Advanced, then the Owner Tab, and set yourself as the owner. Go to the permissions tab, and give your account Full access. It should work then.

Access Denied
Try safe mode, I am not sure about 7, but in XP you can go into safe mode and set yourself as owner and give yourself full access.

So to add to the weirdness, I gave this a shot and the file didn't exist after rebooting. Came back to standard mode and the file is just gone. I'm converting it again to see what the hell happened.

Reconverted it and it started working. I have no idea what happened before. Thanks for all the help guys!
