Greetings, I am trying to put together a full umbrella corporation soldier costume for the upcoming Toronto Zombie walk and I am having trouble finding my main zombie-killer of choice. I've looked around on ebay and kijiji to no real avail and only stumbled upon "kids army" guns which would cost around $30 to be shipped from the US. I was thinking of maybe spraypainting a nerf gun or airsoft gun black perhaps; but i'm afraid of the legal consequences of the latter option. (I would like to discuss that too.) I'm assuming a lot of you have probably cosplayed a lot more than I have and would probably be more knowledgeable on the subject than I am. If you are Canadian, that is extra help, but I would just like to discuss this with everyone. I figure through the discussions I may be able to find the help I am looking for. Where are some places you cosplayers like to shop? Do you ever just build your stuff from scratch? Speaketh, pour your cosplaying hearts out to me. I would love to know everything, lets discuss.
Well it depends with the airsoft thing. Unfortunately in the UK or Australia, you need a designated permit and a can of day-glo orange to be able to walk around with anything that resembles a weapon. In fact my parents were almost detained during my youth because I ran around with a toy water-pistol , designed to look like a P228. So if you live in Australia or the UK, airsoft is a big fat no-no. And remember that both the countries can be described as the Soccer Mom Lobbyist Foundation County Society. (SMLFCS) I'm really not sure about Canada, though. Sorry.

Ok I guess airsoft guns are out of the question then.
you can get toy guns that look a lot like real ones at those convinience stores like the big apple and such. I got a 1/1 scale m1014 from there, not sure if they sell it anymore though

I doubt Canada has banned airsoft guns.
they got rid of the good ones and gave us www.crosman.com
We pretty much have access to anything in-country. TM, CA, G&G, KWA, RS, etc. You just can't get them across borders.
If you get an airsoft gun, and you're not a tard with it, (Not pointing it at anyone, not claiming it's a real gun in any way shape or form on purpose or by accident, making sure it has an orange tip (paint it orange if you have to. More orange then it is, so it's OBVIOUS it's visible.. not " HAI ITS ORANGE SO I CAN SELL IT LEGALLY". https://mach1airsoft.c6.ixwebhosting.com/faq.php Located in Toronto. So I'd hope they sell legal airsoft guns there. Let me try to suggest one for you.. if it's just for show. https://mach1airsoft.c6.ixwebhosting.com/catalog.php?action=show_custom&id=34&cat=3 Holy fuck they cost alot. I hope you're willing to spend that, although I'm assuming you don't have that kind of money laying around. I'll try to find a cheap cheap cheap site. Here are some cheap lame ones (the ones you want if you're going for "DON'T SHOOT ME CAUSE I'M IN PUBLIC!". : http://www.cabelas.ca/store/?section=1197&section2=1387 Low-end MP5 https://www.cabelas.ca/index.cfm?pageID=71&&section=1197&section2=1387&ID=6683 Aw yeah here ya go. M4 + Colt MK IV Pistol combination http://www.airsocom.com/18780.html for 90 bucks. That's not bad at all, and it'll get the job done. I hope this all helps you.

I'm not quite sure if ill use an airsoft gun though anymore, I just don't want to get arrested, some of canada's laws are pretty stupid :P
Honestly I think I'd go with some painted nerf guns, but I think you might want to double-check with the laws before you do it though. I don't live in canada so I really couldn't tell you what you need to do. As to what nerf gun, I think it's a matter of taste and what you want.
Damn, I never thought about how good I have it when it comes to my pellet guns, if I see crow being a ass I go out side and give it a led pill, no one seems to care.
http://www.focalprice.com/Weapons--Military-Toys_385_1_n.html Cheap BB Guns that look rather realistic and have no orange cap. Had no problem having it shipped to the UK. It has free shipping, but it takes a while for the package to arrive. If you want it to arrive sooner rather than later, you pay an extra fee. Hope this helps.
I don't know all about Canada's laws, but here in the U.S most Replica guns are legal as long as they are easily distinguished from real guns. If you have a Dick's or a Sport's Authority anywhere near you, most of them sell Airsoft guns.
The law is pretty much the same in the UK, but it got through customs no problem. Go and search about the laws in Canada regarding this. If not, just buy what you need and hope for best.
Call your local police department and just ask if carrying an unloaded airsoft gun with no battery would be legal or not.
Lol have fun walking around Toronto with ANYTHING that even remotely looks like a gun. The SS Toronto police will probably taze you and tackle you, and the officer who tackled you will get the medal of honor for his valiant work in crime prevention

I'll still call and ask though.
