Just got a new build put together hooked up everything and i ahve 3 red lights on the back of the 4870 and im not getting any signal on the monitor
How many threads are you going to make on this? Reseat the card and make sure the 6pin power connectors are in all the way.
They are in and how do i reset the card?
Pull it out and put it back in, pull the power connectors out and plug them back in also.
no luck
What's it say next to the red light? I had the same problem with my Sapphire 4850 1GB but then i realised i forgot to plug the 4 pin shit to the mobo... Are you still building the computer? Like, you just got the parts?
Stick to one fucking thread jesus.

WHAT 4 PIN CONNECTOR, my card uses 2 6 pin connectors, if your talking about the 4 pin connector next to the big connector that connects power to the mobo, that does go in but it doesent click in, or are we talking about a different connector.
What PSU do you have?

His requires less power thus why he only has a 4 pin.

I love you!!! It works
I'm pretty sure 4850's require a single 6-pin, not any 4-pin connectors.
He's talking about the 12v power connector, the OP forgot to plug it in.
I love you!!! It works
Who do you love? And what did you do? [editline]02:15AM[/editline] This is what i was talking about. Green was plugged in, red wasn't. What's the red shit called? Sorry i forget.
Thats it! It works now!
For future reference, all of the ATI 4xxx series cards have red lights that tell you if there's a fault on the 12V feeds (one for the power thru the slot and one for each 6/8-pin PCIe connector). All lights pop on when the EPS12V or ATX12V connectors are left unplugged as there isn't enough power on the main ATX connector to fuel these newer CPUs. A good telltale sign of an unplugged CPU connector is when PWM CPU fans rev up to maximum RPM and you get the black screen of death.
