• Wireless Connection Question

I recently bought a new wireless adapter, it's USB but it gets the job done. So whenever I boot my PC it doesn't auto connect like my old done did, no matter how many times I re-check auto connect in the connection program. I have two theories to why this is, I need confirmation and/or another reason it might happen, and a way to fix please. My ideas are that: 1 This is USB and it isn't fully activated yet when the PC boots 2 In the network and sharing center it says "wireless network connection 2", and I think my old card just said "wireless network connection" I'm thinking I need to find a way to remove the old card from my computer networking, but I have no idea how to do so. If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to anything.
Just set your computer to automatically connect to "wireless network connection 2" in your network and sharing center. Here's how to do it: 1. Go to the main page of your network and sharing center. 2. Click on your connection name, next to where it says "Connections:" (on the right side of the window). 3. Click "Wireless properties" in the window that pops up. 4. Check "Connect automatically when this network is in range".
Fuck wireless. Get Powerline Adapters if you can.
Or if you want, do this: 1. Go to the main page of your network and sharing center. 2. Near the top of the left pane, click on "Manage wireless networks". 3. Find the network name from your old adapter, right click it, and select "Remove network". [editline]26th October 2011[/editline] Fuck, broke my automerge.
Thanks for the suggestions DeadCow, I've already done the first and when I go to Manage wireless networks it's just the one I have now, but it still shows as Wireless Network 2. I'll keep trying. Thanks [editline]October 26 2011[/editline] [img]http://i.imgur.com/jiOpe.png[/img]
