• I'm about to Apply for a Job; Help?
    19 replies, posted
I'm in class at the moment, but it is released within the next 45 minutes. I'm going to apply at the Barnes and Noble down the road from my college. Even though I'm only getting an application, are there any methods I should use when asking? I'm wearing a plain green ARMY field jacket, band shirt, and pants. I didn't really plan on doing this today, as it was a random thought, so I can't help that I'm not super dressed. I believe that as long as I flip up my nose ring so it's hidden, and pull my hair back, it'll be well. My only concern is that I have nail polish on still. Give me some smooth words to say. >:D Edit: I only got the application. I wasn't going to turn it in. I'll take it up there in a few days. Stop telling me I'm dumb for going in an interview, when I obviously don't plan on having one today.
So I guess you are one of them long-haired demon people. Anyway, don't be afraid to ask about your wage. As an employer, they must pay you every dime you deserve for doing whatever you do at Barnes and Noble. Including all other shit like lunch money maybe, I don't know how all that goes in your country.
Be kind and generous to the owner :colbert:
Be kind and generous to the owner :colbert:
Oh yeah. I'm always well mannered. It's just that people like to stereotype you, and I just happened to not be so "proper" looking today.
Be generous to the owner? As in, give your chocolate cookie to him? Bullshit. Just do your job, and be polite as everyone should.
Well I see no problem with having good manners while actually applying for the job.
try, but apply at multiple places if possible.
You should be ok if you're just asking for an application. But please don't go dressed like that to the interview!
Ah, you'll be alright. the last job application I had, I came in my creepy rapist black trenchcoat, black oxfords and plain shirt. It went fine, if you dont count the fact that I ended up as a porn splicer
You sound like a guy i would hang out with
Yeah, the lady who gave me the application gave me the look. But when I go to turn it in tomorrow or Thursday, I'll wear a button up shirt, lol.
Don't look like a fucking hippie. I would suggest getting changed first.
If your boss is a man, he might appreciate a sexual favor. That would guarantee you the job.
If your boss is a man, he might appreciate a sexual favor. That would guarantee you the job.
Gay sex for a job is not worth it.
You only get one chance at a first impression. If she gave you a funny look. You blew it.
If you would even CONSIDER wearing to a job interview, then your attitude towards it is going to be alllll wrong.
Are you guys retarded? I ONLY WENT IN TO GET AN APPLICATION, AND I CAME HOME. /caps I'm taking it back up there in a couple of days well dressed. I just stated that like, 6 posts ago.
Don't be depressed when they never call you back. I can guarantee they have more applications that have people more qualified than you. Seeing as this would be your first job you most likely won't be hired. Just apply at ALOT of places, especially retail locations (like Kmart, Walmart, Target, etc.). They are always hiring stock people and sometimes cashiers. You probably won't talk to the store manager either. Places like B&N all have human resources reps that are paid to hire and set the schedule.
>Appl >Job The fact you've got these two in capitals makes me think you're applying for Apple.

It's not that I'm being forced to have one, but it's my second semester in college, and I'm living at home. I hate bumming money from my mom, so it would help a little. If not, oh well, no harm done.
