Hey guys ive just realised that my computer is falling to bits, and isnt as fast as it was a few years back. i got payed last week and got all the essentials, xmas presents for people and what not, and was just wondering is it possible to get a good computer with £400. i would play games on my pc if i could run them, as i did in the past. im not amazing at computers so i decided to ask you guys. i get payed my overtime (£100) next week and another £600 next month so should i just save up? thanks for any help.
It can be done.
do you know of any sites where i could choose parts for a computer thats cheap in that case?
What are the specs of your current computer? You may be able to reuse some parts
www.scan.co.uk http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/ Buy your parts from here.
Aria.co.uk is better, Scan.co.uk for everything else.
my computer now is 2GB of ram (bought an extra GB) NVIDIA 9400GT (bought and upgraded from 7500) and a dual 2.6 ghz processor. and 250B hard disk, nothing special at all. its very old.

looking around on ebuyer now.
www.ebuyer.co.uk www.overclockers.co.uk
not overclockers ebuyer, scan, novatech, dabs, if something's not in stock everywhere else amazon if you can't find it by then it's either gone or there's stock problems and you should consider an alternative
I like overclockers.
liking them doesn't suddenly stop their support from sucking
Scan probably has the best prices overall and good customer service. If you want to get the best value for money then you should be spending around £600. Look out for some good deals on 5850/70s as they have come down in price a lot
i really dont understand any them graphics cards, is it the same as NVIDIA? the bigger the number the better the card? yeah im going to save up from net month aswell, il have about a grand to spend if needed. dont really wanna spent that much if it can be helped though.
