• Shitty Wireless Adapter?

So my laptop wireless adapter is being an asshole. It's incapable of establishing a very stable connection to my uni wifi. My android phone works fine. What generally happens is that i am able to join the network, but then i experience horrible lag to the point where i can't even do anything. Then i lose connectivity and spend the next while fucking with my adapter and enabling/disabling/running flushdns/refresh/renew until it decides it wants to join the network again. Sometimes it will straight up just disconnect itself from the network without warning. It does this on my home router too, although not nearly as often. I am all but certain this adapter is a piece of shit... I'm running windows 8 and i have an intel centrino wireless N 2200 adapter, is there anything i can do to make it not suck dick? The driver is up to date...
The N2200 is known for this so I'm presuming it's firmware is causing it, or the network card itself. My college laptop gets 2 bars when it's right next to the router, while my other machine gets 5 bars with 108mbps.
Ugh yeah it's fucking awful. My bars randomly drop down to 1 or 2 for absolutely no reason while my other computer is further away from my home router and sits constantly at 5 bars. I guess i'll look around for some sort of patch or fix
Just buy a USB wireless adapter with a big antenna and disable the internal one.
