im planing to build this with christmas funds. dosent need to be a that good. intel quad 8400 $195 asus p5p43td-pro $119 nvidia gtx 260 $209 g.skill 4gb ram $125 seagate 1tb hd $108 thermaltake v9 $108 thermaltake qfan 500w $150 dvd rw $40 cold cathode lighting $40 cpu cooler/ fan $40 total = $1134 i have monitor, keyboard & mouse and xp licence. if anyone could recomend something better for about $1000 AUD. most of the above parts are from http://www.msy.com.au/
Get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102864&cm_re=5770-_-14-102-864-_-Product or this for GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102852&cm_re=4890-_-14-102-852-_-Product Out of those two the 4890 will give you a few more FPS, but the 5770 will give you Direct X 11 and Eyefinity support. Both are better than the GTX 260.
Op try and go for a core i5.
what about a 8800? [editline]02:47AM[/editline] i dont think i need anything that big
#1 the 8800 is worse. #2 you are buying into a socket that is not going to get any new cpus. Just get a socket 1156 mobo and a i5 and you can get a i7 later if you need to upgrade.
It's better to have a high dual core than a shit low core INCLUDING Q8___. Get the i5, it's not like a 3d rendering machine, i7's are good for that, i5 is a great oc and is great at games too.
$1200 is a bit high. is there any way that i can cut down on that
i agree go for i5 and AMD cards
about $1098 USD is what $1200 AUD is. You could get an i5 for lower than 1k with a monitor, but you don't need one, so you could use w7 instead of XP.
can you show me a build like that
sure, i might not be able to get it on your website, but you can copy the components. made the list.
made the list.
You need to go with parts they have at msy. There are a lot of parts that they don't have there. Use this pdf to make a build. http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf
What is the resolution of your current monitor.
1280x1024 i think (im not at home) mabey bigger
1280x1024 i think (im not at home)
You could use a new monitor but if you are fine with it you could upgrade later.
yea for now but what would i upgrade to (cheap)
20" in benq monitor they have it on msy and it is 129.
no point staying with XP if your wanting to use direct x 10
http://www.centrecom.com.au/ Sometimes cheaper than MSY and they ship.
