• Stream MKV to Xbox

I was trying to look up how to stream MKV files to my xbox and I found this. http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/how-to-stream-mkv-files-to-your-360-the-easy-way.102866/ I was wondering if anyone else has tried this method or if there is a better way. I do have my computer and Xbox wired into my router so that shouldn't be a problem.
I don't know much about the way in your link, but I can achieve the same effect using this software: http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/ Don't be fooled by the name, it works for Xbox as well.
I use xenonmkv, and it works perfect. Since .mkv is just a container format, all it does it mux it into a .mp4 that the xbox reads nicely. Most files will work, including 1080p, but sometimes the bitrate is too high. [editline]24th July 2012[/editline] http://xenonmkv.ev98.net/
Yeah i watched a movie last night with the way in the link and the only issue i had was fast forwarding freeze and not buffer. That could have just been the xbox being wierd.

I might give Xenonmkv a try then. [editline]24th July 2012[/editline] thanks
PS3 Media Server is much better on a Wired network in my opinion. I stream to my PS3 and encode at the same time, and honestly I have no problems when fast-forwarding or rewinding.
