Playing Red Dead Redemption has actually really gotten me into Western themed things, especially the music. COuld anyone point me in the right direction regarding cool Western Style music (i.e. things used in films, similar to that of RDR).
Much appreciated!

It could've been an interesting thread.
Well I just stumbled in here and I like it :v:
Just get the soundtracks Ennio Morricone did for the westerns he worked on.
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
A fistful of dollars
For a few dollars more
Once upon a time in the west.
GYBE!'s album F# A# Infinity has some Morricone tinges to it especially Dead Flag Blues.

^My three favourites: Eagles, Desperado and Hotel California
Is FP really that alien to the concept of country/western that they can't tell what it even is?
I mean elton john? Really?
Marty Robbins has quite a bit of good songs, you might know him as the guy who sings big iron in FO:NV. I own "Gunfighter Ballads", it's great.
Ennio Morricone is the king of Western music.
This makes a good one too though. Its western in theme, maybe not style.

You ask too many questions. Why not just listen to the fucking music. :colbert:
I hate that when people try to judge personality over substance as an excuse. Bullshit really.

Tumbleweed Connection was a country/western album.
If someone suggested rave artists, I may suggest David Bowie because of his "Earthling" album. It may not be what he usually does, but it's still a good rave album.
Check up Hank Williams III, some of his songs sound quite like western.

Not that I'm very fund of Johnny Cash (though I understand he is a great artist), this is a great song.
The Dead Man soundtrack by Neil Young is pretty good:

Or try some Townes Van Zandt:
