Upgrading, need feedback on build, and recommendations

Basically, I'm stupid and have been using a windows vista stock build with an ATI Radeon HD 5700. It has been performing so well with the modern releases so I want to basically take the power supply and the graphics card, and use them in a whole new build.
I went to a local small business that sells pc parts, and they figured out a build. I will soon have about 500 dollars to spend on a build.
My current PC specs are

This was their recommended build

Cpu- AMD AM3 Phenom II X4 840
Mem- DDR3 4GB PC3-10666
MB- AM3 ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB 3
Case-Mid Thermaltake Dokker
Total = 379.95[/QUOTE]This of course doesn't include the graphics card, or power supply. The 120 dollars left over would be used to purchase the hard drive (Anyone have a good recommendation?) and the CD drives. Overclocking is not necessary but if available for my budget then go ahead.
I already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse to use for it.
TL:DR Best possible build that uses ATI Radeon HD 5700 as the graphics card with the current power supply that is equal to or less than 500$ not counting the cost of the graphics card or power supply. Overclocking is not necessary but if available for my budget then go ahead
PSU is probably a piece of shit if it's a prebuilt, don't re use it
I got some advice and I realized that the power supply may not be enough, so if anyone could recommend on thatd be great.

I think the power supply is about 500.
500w isn't going to get you too many places if you plan on upgrading even further in the future - I'd just recommend getting a heavier-duty PSU for a little bit more money. As for the rest of the parts, they should get you the performance you're looking for.

Now how's that for being efficient: Threw in a better PSU as well - Happens to be the one I'm using, too. For 700w, i'm satisfied with it.

Cheapest I could find...If anyone else wants to cite an even cheaper one, be my guest.
