I've lately developed a thing for German movies - so far I've watched Der Untergang, Das Boot, The McKenzie Break (some German scenes) and Stalingrad. Yes, these all happen to be WWII movies but I'm interested in anything you can suggest. :v:

saw it in the students union cinema last year, it's awesome. same director as der untergang and shares a fair bit of cast.

All Quiet on The Western Front. It isn't made in Germany but it's from the German's point of view, if that counts for you.
I quite liked "Die Welle". The movie wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. The ending was much more fitting in my opinion as well.
Downfall. Very emotional and well made about germany's last days.

If you mean movies made in Germany I'm not much help but i would recommend The good German and Schindler's List.
I don't remember the name, but the story is where they have people apply and they choose the "convicts" and police and put them in a these roles and towards the end the people playing the roles of the cops become to into the role and beat the people playing the convicts...can't remember it. but it was german.
