Looks good, your PSU should be able to handle it as well
A GT 240 might be better, I believe it performs better. A GT 440 is also an option.
A GT 240 might be better, I believe it performs better. A GT 440 is also an option.
The problem is that I don't have enough money for either of those, the palit 430 is £51.57 which is already slightly over my budget.
Hd 5670? Hd 4830?
This seems to be the best deal: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/222567
This seems to be the best deal: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/222567
Requires a 500w power supply, I only have a 300w.
I used to run a 8800gt on 300 watts The 9800GT is the 8800gt but draws less power and as that one in the link is a green edition that will draw less than a normal 9800gt It will run
It'll run, but change your PSU as fast as humanly possible.
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/179470 Would this work in my computer and is it better than the 9800 GT?
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/179470 Would this work in my computer and is it better than the 9800 GT?
It's worse.
Why would you even consider running a 9800GT computer that has a 300W power supply. Not worth it imo
Why would you even consider running a 9800GT computer that has a 300W power supply. Not worth it imo
What do you suggest then?
What do you suggest then?
A new power supply, upgrading your computer so that it's teetering on the edge of having enough power isn't clever.
A new power supply, upgrading your computer so that it's teetering on the edge of having enough power isn't clever.
I don't have enough money.
I don't have enough money.
Well you can if you want. Just don't be suprised to find out that your PC won't turn on one day.
I don't have enough money.
Then you're in the wrong section.
Then you're in the wrong section.
Hey, we just get him the best he can get. It seems like he has no problem with the risk of his PSU killing his entire computer. My friend's 9800GT has been running on his 5-year-old HP 330W suicide bomber PSU for two years. Ok, his comuter is dead now, but I've cross-examined his PSU, and it tells me it didn't do it. It's probably his mobo, so maybe the PSU had a hand in this, but still.
