DVD works fine in Xbox, but not in laptop dvd-rom drive.

For some reason my laptop can't detect this dvd (region 4 Saw V [in case the info is useful]) but other dvds work fine. I tried this one in and xbox360 and it worked fine.

Anyone know why the laptop just won't detect it?

Maybe you'll have to download some codecs?

Try using VLC media player, for me it plays all DVD regions out of the box.

Why would codecs be interfering with the actual [b]detection[/b] of the dvd? Don't they just deal with playing it?

Ok people, re-read the OP, It's not an issue of [b]playing[/b] the dvd. The computer just doesn't even know that the disc in the drive...
